The teachers made sure all were on and the bus was off again. Jade was awake so we were watching the next movie they put on. Luca would toss the candy he bought at Jade for fun. Sometimes she was able to catch it in her mouth and then she'd eat it. Jade sees Luca pull out a white and blue package with a cute cat on it.
"Jade, can you read what this says?" Luca passes her the bag.
"Why buy something you can't read? It says "стакан молока" which translates to "glass of milk."
"But what are they and yes cause hey that cat is cute."
"It's a Ukraine candy basically like a sweet, soft toffee filled with a creamy milk filling. I heard about these, they are meant to be really good."
"Then you have them, I thought it was caramel at first, I hate toffee." Luca makes a grossed-out noise and goes through the other stuff he got.
"Mmm, I haven't had those in ages," Yuri said in Russian softly as that was a candy he'd always had as a kid growing up. "I should have gotten some, damn it."
Jade heard what Yuri said but Luca didn't as he didn't know Russian. When Luca wasn't paying attention Jade grabbed a handful of the candy and passed it back to Yuri. Yuri saw her hand with a few pieces of toffee in it. He took the pieces and said thank you in Russian knowing Luca can't speak it. Yuri ripped into those candies like they were his last meal. Luca throws another bag of toffee at his sister, making her laugh.
"Why did you get two?" She chuckles.
"Again I thought they were caramel and you know my addiction to caramel."
Jade just laughed and shoved the bag into her backpack. The hours seemed to tick by and they made it to their destination. Everyone got out of the bus and gathered their things. The students stand in a group facing the four teachers.
"Ok everyone, bunks will be done in last name alphabetical order. When I call your name and cabin number, come and get your key and go to your cabin." One of the teachers said,
Slowly they read the names from the list of boys and the list of the girls. Two girls or two boys per cabin. Jade got her key and was off to her cabin but when she entered to see Yuri there and she was confused. A teacher entered shortly after to talk to the two.
"Sorry, we had an odd number of boys to girls and hope you both don't mind sharing. The couch pulls out to a bed so one of you will sleep on that," They said to them.
"Wait, if there was an odd number and I was the last girl called, I should be rooming with my brother, not Yuri," Jade said, confused.
"I wasn't the one reading names, sorry Miss Silverattii hope this will work for now." The teacher left.
"Jade, you take the bed, I'll take the couch." Yuri offered.
"No you take the bed, I'll be fine on the couch and you have most of your stuff already on the bed anyway."
Jade goes to the couch and gets to work on pulling the bed out. Yuri left to a small closet where some spare sheets are and brought them for Jade. He even gets her the spare pillows from the closet and tosses them on the bed. Luca soon bursts through the door of their cabin and he looks pissed.
"Why the fuck are you two in a cabin together?" He said walking over to Yuri to punch him.
Jade grabs him so he doesn't punch Yuri, "We promised dad no fights while here and I don't know. I asked and the teacher that came to talk to us didn't know either."
"Damn it this wasn't supposed to be like this." Jade looks at Luca confused as to why he would say that.
"Why are you upset, not like y... You asked to be roommates with Milo, didn't you." Jade asked.
Luca gave a face of fear before rushing out of the cabin. Jade screams for him to stop and tries to grab him. Her left leg gave out when she was about to run after him. Yuri rushed to help her back to her feet and made sure she was ok. She gets her cane from her bag and goes out looking for Luca. She heard sobbing from behind a tree and found her brother crying. Jade eases herself down and sits next to Luca. She rubs his back to calm him down.
"Please don't hate me, I just really wanted to room with Milo," Luca said wiping his tears away
"I'm not mad you wanted to room with your best friend ok."
"H-he's not just my best friend,"
"What else co... Luca are you..."
Luca cut Jade off, "Gay yes I'm gay, I love guys, I'd rather be dating a guy than a girl, ok, you happy?"
"Luca you don't have to be upset about that ok. I'm your sister, I know dad might not see it the same but bullshit. Dude if you wanna put your dick in another guy OR the other way around. What can I say, you are my brother, my twin brother, if you're happy then I am happy. I support you and if people don't I'll kick their ass."
"You sure, now you have to room with that disgusting Rostislav cause of me." Jade grabs Luca's face making him look at her.
"Luca, Yuri had nothing to do with what happened to me. Think about it, before and after it happened, how Yuri was to us. Yuri was getting back at me with those dumbass pranks around the school before it happened. He was clearly hating me like he wanted me dead, and after he stopped the pranks like he clearly had no clue about anything. He apologized for what his dad did and I accepted it, it's my problem ok so let me worry about him. Now let's go back and have some fun and please stop punching the guy."
"Haha ok, I guess I did go overboard with the punches to his face. I'm guessing he got you those gummy worms and you two talked while I was away?"
"Yes to both, he apologized for putting Lapin's death on me when I didn't have anything to do with it. Our families are still not on good terms but the two of us are. And hey, he's moving back home soon so you won't have to deal with him."
They both make it back to the campsite and go into her cabin.
