"Party such as this often bore children, aren't they? Well, I wanted to give you something as a token of my appreciation for the beautiful piano performance just now" says Fudge and hand over a small box as big as Serenity's palm.

Serenity looks at Snape and he nods his head. Serenity takes the box. It is Christmas green box with a bright red ribbon.

"Open it, dear. Let's see how it is on you" smile Fudge.

Serenity opens it and there was another box, navy blue, almost like a jewellery box. She open and she was shocked. It is a pair of silver and diamond hairpins. It glows.

"I wanted to give that to my granddaughter but I figure it will better suit you. Go on, put it on. Let's see how they look on you" say Fudge and takes the box Serenity, held for her.

Serenity takes it and puts each pin on each side of her ear, pulling her hair back on each side.

"Oh my dear, aren't you a beauty" complimented Fudge.

The hairpin compliment well with Serenity's jet-black hair. Fudge frowns when he saw that Serenity look displeased.

"What's the matter, my dear?" asked Fudge.

"Beauty is useless since beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and beauty withers with time. What is most important is knowledge. Because knowledge is POWER" answered Serenity, looking up to Fudge.

Snape smiled slightly and proudly. Fudge and the rest of the Ministry were impressed. The Malfoys, especially Lucius look like he is about to puke out with loath.

"Impressive. Serenity makes a fine suitor, don't you think so, Lucius?" tease Fudge.

All of the adults are shocked while Serenity looks confused, and Draco looks disgusted.

***********

Serenity pouted as she and Snape walk slowly out of Malfoy Manor. She has asked what Fudge says.

Fudge had suggested to Lucius that to take Serenity as his daughter-in-law. She is angry and now she is sad. She doesn't want that. Snape stop walking and kneel in front of Serenity, with both of his hand holding Serenity's arms.

"Serenity," says Snape gently.

"They are not going to make you marry me off to of their son, right father?" ask Serenity worriedly.

Snape smiled gently.

"No. Their pride won't let them. No matter how talented or how powerful sorceress you will become. They won't because you are a muggle-born. Besides, if you are to get married, I want you to marry the one that you want to marry" says Snape calmly.

Serenity smiled with gladness. Seeing that, Snape gets up and they walk again.

"Father" call out Serenity.

"Yes, Serenity" answer Snape.

"There must be more for me than just marriage, right?" asked Serenity.

"Yes, there are infinite possibilities for your future" answer Snape confidently.

"When I grow up, I want to be just like your father," said Serenity happily.

Snape smiled sadly.

"Just like me?" ask Snape slowly.

"Yes. Many may say bad things at your back, but I know personally what a great wizard you are. That is what I want to be. A great witch, very much like your father" explains Serenity.

Snape stops walking and looks at Serenity. He smiles a fatherly smile, leans down and brushes his fingers onto Serenity's nose. Serenity shivers ticklish and laughs a bit. Holding each other hands, they walk on.
