"Ah, never knew Severus would become a father himself," said Lupin, smiling as he looked at Serenity.
"Sir?" asked Serenity.
Lupin laughs lightly.
"I mean no offence, Serenity. I remember your father when we go to Hogwarts as students. He is a solitary person" said Lupin.
Snape did not talk much about his days as a student at Hogwarts. Serenity wants to ask more but decides not to ask out of respect for her father. Serenity want to ask more about her father when he is a student but she held back. Whatever it is, she had to ask him herself.
"Me too sir, unless Hermione is with me" answered Serenity.
"Hermione? You mean Miss Granger?" asked Lupin in shock.
Serenity is used to others shocked to have a Slytherin like herself being friends with Gryffindor like Hermione. But Lupin's reaction is more just shock, he is amused.
"You are a lot like your father," said Lupin with a sad smile. "You both are just like your fathers when they were at school" looking at both of the children.
Both Harry and Serenity take a back and look at each other.
"My father looks like me back in school?" ask Serenity curiously.
Lupin laugh.
"Not physically, no. You are an eye candy than Severus when he is back at school, Serenity. But I can see his essence in you despite having the same black hair and eye, and porcelain skin. You have his passion for knowledge. But you are still you since you are in the quidditch team. Chaser, right?" asked Lupin.
"Yes, sir" answered Serenity.
"Professor Snape is not a quidditch player?" asked Harry.
"No, he is not. Just like you who are NOT a mischievous bully like your father, Harry" answered Lupin.
"Mischievous bully?" asked Harry confusedly.
"A story for another time. In the nutshell, you both are your father's child but still in your own way that defines you as a person" smile Lupin.
Serenity is so happy to hear what Lupin says. She is related to Snape but they are so distantly related. What's more she is a muggle-born and Snape is half-blooded by his mother who is, and being a girl will only make her look more different than Snape as she grows up.
Harry smiled when he saw how happy Serenity when Lupin says she is just like Snape. Harry remembers Hermione had told him and Ron that Serenity and Snape are niece and uncle. But after Snape took custody of Serenity at at the office, Snape has become her father. Hearing that somehow makes Harry a bit jealous, because from what Hermione says, Snape adores Serenity like she is his real daughter. He wishes that he had someone besides the Dursley.
"Well now, I'll be going back. You two, be nice to each other" say Lupin and walks away.
Harry and Serenity watch Lupin walk back to the castle.
"I take that our fathers are not friends?" said Harry, looking back to Serenity.
"I thought so too," said Serenity, looking at Harry and putting on her hat.
"And what about you and I?" asked Harry.
"Well, I am a friend to your friend, Hermione. I have helped with your study for exams for two years straight. You decide what you and I are, Mr Potter since you're the gentleman here" answer Serenity and tie the ribbon of her hat to her chin.
Harry smile.
"Good day, Mr Potter," says Serenity and turns in the opposite direction from the castle.
