Aw, Dang it, I Chipped a Nail

Heyo, human beings from outer space!

This came out of nowhere. I think it's great, though.

Just something short, sweet, and silly.

Trigger warning for blood.

Read on if you dare.

The battle was around halfway over when the explosion rocketed off. It wasn't huge, but Anakin, Ahsoka, and Rex were all close enough for it to throw them away from the rest of the group.

Ahsoka hit the ground the hardest, skidding across the gravel-filled dirt and scraping her lekku and arm. She shook it off and climbed back to her feet. A few surface cuts couldn't slow her down.

"You okay, Snips?" Anakin asked, already standing. Rex stood next to him.

"Yeah," Ahsoka answered, checking her lightsaber. "You?"

"You're insane if you think that'll stop the chosen one" Anakin snorted cockily. "Rex?"

"Never better, Sir," Rex nodded curtly.

"Aw, dang it," Ahsoka suddenly pouted beside the two men.

Anakin instantly began to worry. "Did you break something?"

"I chipped a nail."

Anakin and Rex snorted simultaneously. "Since when do you care about chipped nails?"

"You're right," Ahsoka agreed. "It'll stop hurting in a minute. Let's get back to the others."

The battle ended fairly swiftly with a Republic win. Somehow, Anakin managed to separate himself from his lightsaber (again) and there were around a hundred metres of distance between the two.

Ahsoka snatched up the lightsaber and brought it to Anakin. With a smirk and something snarky on the tip of her tongue, she reached out to hand him his lost weapon.

"Thanks, Sni-" Anakin shrieked and recoiled from his lightsaber.

"What? What's wrong?" Ahsoka demanded.

"Why is there blood all over your hand?!" Anakin wailed, pointing to her hand which was wrapped around his lightsaber. He shrieked again. "You're missing a nail! Why is there no nail on your finger?!"

"Oh. I told you. I chipped my nail," Ahsoka told him casually, waving his lightsaber in front of him for him to take. "You said it yourself: It's not a big deal."

"I changed my mind," Anakin said. He snatched his lightsaber from her and grabbed her arm. "Chipping a nail is not the same as ripping it off! Come on, you're going to go see Kix about it."

"Nooooo!" Ahsoka whined. She twisted and squirmed, trying to free herself, but Anakin's metal hand was more than a match for her.

And at the end of the day, she ended up with a bandage on her finger. But still no nail.

Short, sweet, and silly. I thought it was silly, anyway.
