I woke up to the sound of crying. A girl crying. It was probably just Beth or Maggie having a tantrum.

I sat up and rubbed my eyes. I hopped down from the top bunk and walked out to the sitting area.

"Don't worry, you're going to be fine." Rick soothed her.

She wasn't part of our group. But she looked very familiar.

"My my sister! She's de- dead! Those th- things! They g- got her!" She put her face in her hands and poured tears.

She sounds familiar too...

Wait...

Could it be?

Is it really her?

Is it Allison? My only friend that was a girl?

I pushed past the group that was surrounding her and studied her face.

She had brown hair that went down to the middle of her back. Her face was covered in freckles. Her eyes were mismatched. One was really dark brown, I could barely see her pupils. And the other was bluish-green with gold specks. I could tell by her stubby legs that she was a tiny person.

"Allison?'' I asked, smiling.

She immediately looked up and her expression brightened.

"Amelia!" She practically screamed.

Her arms were thrown around my neck and I hugged her back.

"You know each other?" Rick asked.

"Yeah." I replied. "You know how I was a tomboy? Well, Allison was my only girl friend at the time."

I put my hand up to Rick's ear.

"She thought you were cute during high school." I whispered.

He raised his eyebrows at me and I nodded back. Allison must've heard me because she blushed a little.

"How did you get here?" I asked, turning back to Allison.

"Amanda and I were looking for a place to stay and we found towers. We came this direction and found a gigantic hole in the side of the prison. It was overrun with the things. Amanda didn't make it." She looked down, on the verge of tears. "She made the stupid mistake of shooting a lone thing with a gun and they all came towards us. I barely escaped with my life." Tears started to roll down her cheeks and she wiped them away with her trembling hands.

Amanda. Allison's sister. She saved my life, but lost hers.

I wanted to tell her so bad that her sister didn't die in vain. But if I did Rick and Daryl would never get off me about it. So, I decided to wait until we were alone.

"You should go get some rest." Hershel suggested. "C'mon. You can share a cell with Carol." He took her hand and walked her to her new home.

Everyone started to walk away and socialize as I ran over to Rick.

"He's out hunting." He said, thinking I was going to ask about Daryl.

"I wasn't going to ask about him." I replied. "I was going to ask how you were doing."

Rick looked taken by surprise. "Fine. I guess."

"How are you 'sorting things out'?" I asked, suspiciously. Rick has only said 'sorting things out'. But he never told me what he was actually doing.

"I cleared out the boiler room block of the prison." He said.

"You did? But it's overrun with walkers." I immediately regretted what I said.

"Yeah I cleared it. Wait a second. How would you know? No one in the group has been down there but me." He looked at me suspiciously.

"Alright. I knew I was going to have to tell someone sooner or later." I grabbed Rick's wrist and pulled him to his cell. "I went looking for Daryl because he was gone an entire day."

"Amelia! You should-" He started.

"I know! I know! I shouldn't have gone! But you know how Amanda used one gunshot?" I asked.

"Yes."

"Well that gunshot saved my life. I was surrounded by walkers and the gunshot made them all leave. Amanda saved my life."

"Are you going to tell her? Allison?" Rick asked.

"Yeah. I'm going to tell her after she gets some rest. Swear you won't tell Daryl?" I pleaded.

"I... Uh.... Yeah.... I swear." He smiled at me. "Whenever you need someone to talk to, I'll be here."

"Thanks." I replied. "Same goes for you. Want to talk about anything?"

"I guess." Rick paused. "I keep seeing Lori." He admitted.

I didn't know what to say.

"Like in dreams?" I asked, unsure of what to say.

"No... Like.... I see her... Like she's really there, but she's not." He sighed. "I found this phone in the boiler block and.... Someone called. It rang and everything. Like it was really happening, but it was just Lori."

Rick looked down at the ground. I just stood there. I didn't know what to say. This has never happened to me. Not even after I figured out Shane was dead.

"Rick, I don't know what to say. I wish I could help, but I don't know how..." I said.

"Yeah... Same with everyone else."

Rick turned and left my cell, leaving me all alone.

I watched as he walked away. I felt so bad for him. He was my best friend and I couldn't do anything to help him out.

I sat on my bunk, thinking to myself. I've been doing that a lot lately. I just think about what I say and do usually.

I know what you're thinking. Why not think about all the walkers that are up your ass all day? Well, during this kind of time you realize that there is more life than fighting walkers.

I heard foot steps enter my cell. I looked up and saw Allison standing before me.

"Hershel said I would find you here." She smiled at me.

I returned the smile, even though I wasn't really in a happy mood.

"I'm really sorry about Amanda." I said.

Allison looked glum. "Yeah. Ya know... She swore she would protect me. When all those 'walkers' as you guys call them. When those walkers showed up she ran into them and yelled for me to run." Tears started to roll down her cheeks.

"Your sister didn't die in vain." I said. "She saved my life."

Allison looked confused.

"What do you mean?" She asked, sniffling.

"I was out in the halls and I was surrounded by walkers. Her gunshot made them leave.... I would be dead right now if it weren't for Amanda..." I replied.

"If only she knew..." She sighed.

"Yeah." I said. "So how do you like Carol?" I asked, switching topics.

"She's nice, but I feel like she keeps hitting on me...." Allison said, looking nervous.

"Why would she be hitting on you?" I asked confused.

"She's lesbian right?" She asked.

I burst into laughter.

"No! Why would you think that?!" I said, between laughs.

"Her hair..." She said awkwardly.

"That's just her hair style! She's defiantly not lesbian!" We both laughed until our ribs hurt.

"Well, I'll see you in the morning then." Allison said.

"See ya." I replied.

I laid back on my bed, thinking of all the good times we had had together.
