I stared across the field that's now filled with walkers.
Fuck you Governor.
I want to beat the shit out of this guy. Glenn, Michonne, and I want to the most.
To be honest, I was jealous of Michonne. She got to stab the son of bitch in the eye.
Lucky bastard.
"Hey." I heard a voice say behind me. I slowly turned around, hoping it wasn't Daryl or Rick.
It was Carl.
"Hey." I smiled. He didn't smile back. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing... Just miss my mom is all..." Carl replied glumly, looking at the ground.
I felt really bad for him. I lost my mom too, but I was 16. Carl is only 13. Plus, he watched his mom die. I was in the hospital waiting room when mine died. Poor kid.
I pulled up another metal folding chair next to me. Carl sat down. I put my arm around his shoulder. Tears started rolling down his cheeks. He wiped them away with his shirt sleeve.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that." I said.
"I miss her a lot." Carl sniffled. "I was so mean to her. It's all I think about."
"Carl, your mother saw through that. She loved you with all her heart." I said.
"You really think so?" He asked.
Honestly, I didn't know. I only knew Lori for 2 days. I was just trying to make Carl feel better.
"I know so." I smiled. Carl gave me a crooked smile back.
He wiped away the remainder of his tears.
"Oh." Carl remembered. "They found something for your missing arm."
"They did?!" I asked excitedly. "What is it?!"
"Go see for yourself." He smiled. Carl actually gave me a full out smile. This was the first time I had seen him smile since his moms death.
"I can't." I said glumly. "I'm keeping watch."
"That's why I came out in the first place. I have to keep watch anyway." Carl replied.
"Oh thank you!" I squealed. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
I kissed him on the forehead and raced down the guard tower stairs. I heard Carl laughing at my childish actions as I ran into the cell block.
"Someone's in a good mood." Allison said smiling, holding Judith in her arms.
"Where?" I asked ginning widely.
"In your cell." She laughed.
I ran to my cell and saw Rick ad Daryl sitting there silently. They both stood up when they saw me enter.
"What do you have?!" I yelled.
They both smiled at my childishness. Daryl picked something up off of his bunk and hid it behind his back.
"We stopped. By the infirmary and found this." Rick said.
Daryl handed me something I had only seen in my dreams.
A prosthetic arm.
I squealed with delight and pulled them both in for a hug. They both chuckled as we pulled away.
Rick looked from me to Daryl uncomfortably.
"Well...' He said. "I'm going to go see Carl... See you guys later." Rick shuffled out of my cell and Daryl turned to me.
"What's up with him?" He asked.
Oh boy. Looks like its time to tell him the truth.
I sat in the folding chair that Rick was sitting in earlier. Daryl sat on his bunk staring at me uncertainly.
"Well..." I began. "Rick and I were talking about how you left and why I didn't go with you..."
He stared at me with an intense gaze, urging me to go on.
"And well..." I gulped. "We kissed."
I sat there waiting for Daryl's response to what I had just told him.
"You and Rick... Kissed?" He asked.
I nodded slowly, avoiding eye contact. "Yes." I whispered.
Daryl's expression turned to rage. He punched the wall so hard his knuckles started bleeding. He left a blood mark on the cell wall.
I didn't know what to say. I just sat there avoiding his gaze.
Daryl stormed out of the cell.
"MERLE!" He yelled. "C'MON WERE GOIN' HUNTIN'"
"Alright Darylina!" Merle yelled back. "Finally some action 'round here!"
They both walked out of the cell block. I just sat there alone in my cell with the blood on the wall.
