Chapter 12

The floor started freezing under us and got slippery. The floor started shaking as we heard the footsteps of the giants approaching us there was a big cloud of mist in front of us, a dark shadow started approaching us. We all got ready for attack, the shadow emerged from the mist and there stood a frost giant. His blood-red eyes looking down on us. I froze to my spot, I have only ever seen them in mythological books.
"ATTACK." yelled cap
I clicked the button on my staff and extended it all the way up, as I shot up I saw there was a whole army behind that one giant. I swung forward and as I went down I saw some of the giants coming my way. I closed my staff in mid air and started diving to my targeted area. The small weak area where there were fewer soldiers. I got closer to the floor and extend my staff and spun down. My feet hit the ground and extended my staff to a good size to fight. I started running.
"Kek do you know what you're doing." said Tony through the earpiece
I pressed the button to answer.
"Yep there are fewer giants here." I answered
I started fighting a few as they started approaching. One was about to go for my legs when it bent down I jumped on its back and leaped. There was a giant that came out of nowhere and grabbed my head and held me and felt my head starting to freeze it was like a brain freeze but one hundred times worse. I screamed in pain. It suddenly let go and dropped to the ground, I was fighting to have my eyes open, everything was blurry. I made out a big green figure and figured it was hulk he yanked me and carried me in his hand and he jumped and we flew through the air we landed on a building and he left me there.
"Thanks... Hulk..." I mumbled
He let out a roar and jumped off and left me there. I felt something trickle down my eye. I lifted my head and touched it and saw deep red blood, I laid my head back down and let out a sigh.
"Kek?" I heard someone say through the earpiece
"Mmm..." I answered
"Where are you??" they said
"I don't know...ask green bean." I said
I heard muffled voices, I closed my eyes.
I woke up by a sudden shudder, I quickly sat up and saw I still was on the building. I looked around and everything was still foggy and cold. I stood up and slowly walked to the edge of the building, I still saw some giants fighting. I don't think I was out that long then. I stepped on the edge of the building and let myself fall, and dove through the air feeling the chilly air hit my skin. I grabbed my staff and clicked the button and extended all the way down, and started swinging through the air. After looking for the rest of the avengers I saw them fighting just a little away from me. I did a last strong swing and closed my staff and fell through the air, I dived and gained more speed as I went down. I landed on one of the frost giant hearing its bones crack out of place. It fell under me and I stood up gradually due to the pain i felt on my knees after that long and hard landing. I opened my staff I could lean on it, I looked up and saw Cap and hulk standing there. I waved and they just kept looking.
"Well come on don't just stand there." I said
They stood there and I ran past them, and glanced back at them. I saw them running behind me and we kept going.
"How did they even consider letting a kid join the team she can risk us or worse she is not even helping...." I heard cap say to hulk
I turned a corner and lost them. As I did I saw some giants there.I leaped through the air and Loki was also leaping my way.
"WATCH OUT WATCH OUT WATCH OUT!" I yelled
We crashed into each other and we hit the ground. I groaned and opened my eyes to be met by Lokis eyes and my eyes widened and I could feel a blush creeping into my cheeks. I looked over his shoulder and yelled and grabbed his shoulders and spun both of us away, my arms collapsed and my body also collapsed on Loki. Loki was breathing very heavily. My head was next to his and I was looking at the ground, I could most definitely feel I was a very dark shade of scarlet. I was holding my breath. I felt Loki put his hand on my hip.
"You can breath we are fine." he whispered
I exhaled loudly and made my hand into a fist, and hit it to the ground. I let out a growl and sat up.
"Yooooooooo we are in the middle of a fight here can't you lovers wait?" said the tin can behind us
I quickly turned to face him, and had a furious look on my face. He must have noticed because he rolled his eyes and kept fighting. I huffed and got up and walked off. I extended my staff and kept pushing through. The weather started warming up, I looked around as the sun started to appear again. The mist was disappearing and the ice was vanishing. I closed my staff and hooked it to my back. I saw thor fly up to the sky and disappear. All of the giants started melting and disappearing soon after.
"What the fu.. When did he get here?" I mumbled to myself
I clicked the button to communicate with the tin can.
"Tin can when did thor get here?" I said
"Oh he appeared and Odin helped out too." he said casually
"And you did not bother to say anything?" I snapped
"Oh... Um whoops." he said
"Dumbass." I said
I pinched the bridge of my nose and let out a sigh and threw my arms in the air.
"Nex, are you-"
I grabbed my staff and swung away. I am so frustrated with myself I can't seem to help at all. And am just overwhelmed and upset at myself for just being useless.
I reached the avenger's tower and went to the very top of it. I landed on the roof and threw my staff at the ground and ripped off my mask and threw it to the ground. And let out a yell of anger and fell to my knees, I grabbed my face and felt some tears streaming down my face. Am always useless even the stupid captain America said so himself. I slowly stood up and walked to the edge of the building and sat down on the very edge and just let my legs hang in the air and looked at New York and the sunset go down. I bit my lip and cracked my knuckles.
I've been here for a long time. The moon and stars were set in, I started hearing footsteps. I ignored it thinking it was my mind just messing with me. Someone then sat down next to me, I slightly looked up and turned my head a little, and saw Loki sitting there looking out to the view. I looked back down and sighed.
"What are you doing up here." I said
"Well, the avengers told me to go looking for you. And when I did they said to bring you back to the tower." he said
"Mm..." I hummed
There was a moment of silence.
"And also... Because I was slightly worried about you." he said
"Oh me oh wow! Loki the all mighty God worrying about a mortal?" I said looking up and smiling
"Yes. You should be honored." he said
I rolled my eyes at him and chuckled a little. He looked at each other and locked eye contact. We looked away and let watching the stars. I could feel my heart palpitating. And a blush creeping to my face.
