Chapter Thirty-One

[Kaden's POV] 

I shrug my bag off my shoulder and put that in the locker. My eyes slid to my right as Rose and Rex walked in. I sigh turning my eyes back at my phone and continuing my shit. The sudden hands wrapping around my waist got me to turn around to meet Olivia. 

"Hey babe, so how about we go visit the river before going for drinks-" 

Her words turned into a silent hum as I see Rose walk past us. She might get the hint that I wasn't talking to her. She doesn't even look my way. Not that I care. 

"Kaden?" 

I look back at Olivia and smiled nodding before grabbing my things and grabbing her hand as we walked towards our classes. She giggled kissing my jaw before bidding me goodbye. 

"Don't be late" I said and she nodded. 

It's not that I hate Rose, I was the guy who had feelings for her before anyone. But Alex was too much. His face made me wanna punch him square in his cheeks. He had her hooked onto him the day she met us. She was was timid and innocent. And I know she liked Alex and Theo more than me. It makes me angry. Unfortunately, as much as I hate to admit it. I am using Olivia to distract me. She isn't my girlfriend, but I hope she doesn't think I am being serious. 

I stare at Rose as she stood near the back entrance talking with Rex and his pimps. The last thing he should be doing is letting her be near them. 

I waited for Olivia to show and my body froze as Rex's eyes snapped toward me. He gave me a nod before going back to talking but his action caused Rose to notice me. I looked away. 

"Sorry, had to talk with some friends-" 

I don't know what made me do it, as I grabbed Olivia who ran towards me with her gorgeous smile, not as pretty as Rose though, I kissed her roughly, wrapping my hands around her waist and she smiled in the kiss. But eyes opened to watch how Rose reacted. I could see the visible tension she felt as our eyes met. I pulled Olivia closer and kissed her roughly until she moaned and pushed back. 

"Babe, we are still in college, not here" 

My eyes snapped back to her the minute she pushed back, but I kissed her cheek, looking back towards Rose but the next thing I saw was Rex putting his dirty hands on Rose's lower back and them walking outside. I mentally cursed. 

What was I trying to do? Make her jealous? When she already had three others caring for her and treating her better than I was? 

I sigh as Olivia grabbed my hand and dragged me to my car. 

"Let's go back to my place. Your house has a lotta people" She said after a small chuckle. 

"Why you don't like it?" I asked as I pulled out of the driveway, my eyes caught Rex and Rose standing near his car, his hand clearly wrapped around her which made me even angrier. 

"Well, won't it be better if we go to my house? No one around. I feel weird to think they probably know what we are doing in your room" She said so with an uncomfortable smile on her face. 

"Oh really. I thought you liked the guys surrounding you. Being the center of attention" 

Her smile dropped and she looked at me. I chuckled and licked my lips. 

"Why would you say that?" She asked, her face held a deep frown but there was something in my head that was constantly reminding me of how Rex touched Rose. 

He didn't even like her at first, why was he getting so close to him? He smells of weed and hangs out with his gang doing crap to get in trouble, to think she still doesn't mind standing and talking with those assholes angered me. 

"Um-you seem like you aren't in the mood. Just drop me at my house please." 

"I was just stating facts babe" 

"Kaden, just stop. Actually, stop the car. I'll get down here"  

I chuckled, ignoring her angry face. 

"What's so good about Rex anyway?" I asked and she snapped her face at me. I smirked and nodded. 

"Ya, I know you both fucked. Last month, when you randomly turned up at our house. Wasn't for me was it?" 

She rolled her eyes and looked away. 

"You fucked other girls too while we were actually dating-" 

"Yes but my brother!? What the fuck Olivia? and you act like you my girlfriend and want me to take you on dates, who else did you fuck? Alex? Theo? I wouldn't be so shocked-"

"Kaden!" she yelled as I stopped the car and let my head fall back as I sigh. 

"I didn't fuck anyone after we started dating which was recent. But I know you have your eyes somewhere else. Rex, it was a one-time thing. I don't even know your brother Theo and Alex. I hardly talk to. I am confused about why I have  to explain this to you but whatever makes you happy I guess?" She paused pushing her hair out her face before staring at me.

"You act like I betrayed you or something when the real reason we broke up first was you cheating on me" 

"That was a year ago-" 

"So?" she cut me off and I pinch the bridge of my nose frustrated. 

"And the way you kiss me and look at Rose has helped me realize you got with me just to make her jealous. So, thanks for making me think you wanted me back again. Asshole " She opened the car as I chuckled. 

"Doesn't change the fact you fucked my brother." She stopped and looked back. 

"You asked me to get back together after that happened, so I didn't 'cheat' on you. And if you think I did. I don't give a fuck, get your thoughts in order Kaden, you are using me and you know it. I thought we could try again but I know it's of no use. Use one of your other chicks to get sex" 

I clenched my jaw and stare ahead. 

"I have no other chicks like you had other side dudes to fuck" 

She said nothing but slammed the car door shut and walked the other way. Clearly not towards her house. 

"Fuck!" I cursed out loud. I knew I fucked up. 

Olivia was the only girl who took me seriously. She was the only one who helped me and made me feel better. I took her for granted. I was so into the thought of having Rose that I didn't realize that Rose will never be mine. 

Getting out of the car and yelling out Olivia's name didn't stop her. She kept walking away. I cursed as walked toward her. 

"Olivia, Stop." 

"Fuck of a jerk!" 

"Look, I am sorry" I grabbed her by her elbow and turned her around only to be slapped on my right cheek. 

"You are accusing me of sleeping around like a whore. You expect me to be happy and accept that? ya! I slept with Rex. But I don't belong to you, there was no relationship here, between us. Still isn't." she said pointing her finger back and forth between us. 

"And it was just once. But you wouldn't care. Because you think I am at your disposal. I am not a toy you can use to make your crush jealous, admit it. She doesn't like you, honey. You are the loser here. Sorry for your loss. Bye" 

"Olivia-" She never looked back as I closed my eyes and looked away. 

"Sorry!" 

She stopped and looked back. 

"You should tell her you like her. At least a reply will help you sort your thoughts out, That's the final advice as your old friend" 

"I want you" I never realized I said that.

"No Kaden, you want a background character who will be there for you no matter what you do. Unfortunately, I am not it" 

Kaden regretted the whole thing. he couldn't make the situation any better, and now that Olivia left he knew how utterly helpless he was. He had offended Rose and others already. And now it was the girl he truly wanted to be with, but his thoughts and actions had fucked everything up.
