Chapter Twenty Three

"Hey Primrose, is - is that your name? Kaden calls you that, we thought it was a nickname or something"

I stare at that guy while closing my book and nodded softly.

He was in my class, I think a friend of Kaden's. But I never really talked to them. It was more like they avoided me when I was with him or Rex.

"Oh, great. Um..do you, do you maybe wanna join my group for the next project? We need one more member. And Kaden switched his class with another-"

I wasn't asked by anyone yet. In the end, I thought I could go with whoever remained or just alone.

I didn't care for it but hearing him ask me made me feel acknowledged.

I nodded once before digging through my books and taking out a paper from my chart.

"This is a chart I made for the project. You can refer to it to give us our work" He took it from me looking a bit amazed and nodded back smiling.

"Sweet. This will make it a lot easier. Do you mind the research part? Just highlight and send me. I will give you the links  and topics"

"Okay," I said and he softly smiled before turning back but looking at me again.

"Uh- I need your number?"

"Oh!" I jump in to grab his phone as he gives it to me and type my number.

"Thanks, Primrose. I'll text you later."

"Ya sure," I reply as he walked to the door disappearing in the hallway.

I sigh in relief and happiness sitting back down when my heart skipped a beat as I see a certain someone leaning near the door.

"What were you two talking about?" He walked towards me as I stared at his very serious glare. Or was I imagining it? 

"Hey Kaden, it was for our project," he glanced back at the now empty hallway.

"Why are you going with those guys? You have girls in this class"

I smile in embarrassment.

"I don't know anyone. Plus the girls have already made their own groups. He was kind enough to ask me," Kaden raised his eyebrows before grabbing my bag.

"Hey!" I yell as he starts walking out.

"Why do you always do that?" I asked trying to get my bag back but he just dogged my hand.

"Because I want to" I huff walking slowly.

"Rex?" I asked.

"Out" was a one-word reply meaning he was probably somewhere I wouldn't wanna know or wouldn't understand.

That was cool. I mean, I wouldn't wanna explain everything to someone with little knowledge.

"You didn't sleep last night"

I thought it was a question but his stern voice caught me off guard. I did sleep, because of Theo. And because he comforted me. But somewhere through sleeping, I woke up unable to let my mind feel at ease.

I just snuggled in Theo's big arms but my head kept replying that moment.

"It's about Alex ya?"

I froze for a second as he opened the car door for me.

"No.."

"Liar," he whispered. He just sat there. Behind the wheel staring at me till I finally gave in.

"It's been two days now," I said to myself. "I don't hate him for being angry at me. I did cause him to get in trouble-"

Kaden's loud snicker made me glance at him.
