Proxima's Mission (DISCONTINUED)

Chapter II - Uncolonized Place

Proxima passes by Phobos which is one of Mars' moons and is on the verge of entering Mars's atmosphere. The spaceship begins the burn, and there's a warning to slow down the spacecraft. Proxima notices it and sets the engine a bit faster, then he looks out the window and sees a glimpse of a group of buildings. The spaceship stops burning and is about to land, there's a warning again to activate landing legs. Proxima sees a button lighting up and presses it, the landing legs are out, and another warning says the spaceship is too fast to land. It was too late, the spacecraft was close to the ground and is about to crash. Then, Proxima and the spacecraft crashed on Mars's surface.

A few hours later, Proxima wakes up on a bed in an unfamiliar place, he is confused and tries to remember what happened. The door of the room he's in opens and a medic enters, the medic sees him and runs away. "Huh, wait-", says Proxima, a few minutes later and a group of soldiers enters the room. "Come with us," says a soldier in Russian which Proxima doesn't understand. One of the soldiers makes a hand gesture to come with them. Proxima understands and follows them. They moved through the facility and entered a room with a human inside waiting. The soldiers leave and close the door, leaving Proxima with the man. "Hello there, can you understand me and who are you?", asked the man in Russian, Proxima tilts his head in confusion. "Hmm, it seems you don't, that's fine", says the man while Proxima is still confused and lost in his mind.

Proxima suddenly stares at the bookshelf full of books next to the man, then the man notices him seeing the books. "You like those, huh?", says the man, "Why not I give you a book of the Russian alphabet?", the man says while grabbing a book. The man gives the book of the Russian alphabet and words, and Proxima grabs it happily. Proxima widens his eyes and becomes more confused than before. The man chuckles and stands up next to Proxima, the man gives him what the letters sound like, Proxima enjoys the teaching and is surprised. Proxima repeats what the man says and the man is surprised at how fast he can learn. Proxima is now able to read Russian letters and words, but only understands how to say "Hello", "Thank you", and "Goodbye".

Weeks later, some people are doubting this but the man still teaches Proxima Russian and other subjects such as human anatomy, laws, society, the Latin alphabet, etcetera. The man gains some help from his friends to teach Proxima different subjects. Proxima is now able to communicate in Russian mediocrely and English a bit. Since he can speak Russian now, the man can interrogate him. "So what is your name?", says the man in a serious tone, "I don't know what is my name in Russian", says Proxima a bit sad. "Alright, where are you from?",  says the man, "A star nearby?", says Proxima, "Proxima Centauri?" says the man. "Maybe? Is that the name?", says Proxima, "Why not say it in your language?", says the man. Then, Proxima says his name, and the star in his language both sound the same. "Hm, I believe your name is also Proxima Centauri", says the man, "I guess...", says Proxima. "Oh I think I forgot to introduce myself on the first day I met you", says the man, "Well, my name is General Timofey Drozdov but you can call me General Timofey", says the man. "So, tell me where am I?", asked Proxima, "You are in the Martian Arctic Base of the Russian Space Forces or the MABRSF", General Timofey mentioned. "Now, are you from another civilization or something?", asked General Timofey, "I'm from some kind of intergalactic empire which is very strict and made me want to escape from that hell kind of a place", explained Proxima, "So that's what made you go here", General Timofey said, "Yeah", Proxima replied.

After interrogating, General Timofey asked Proxima if he wants to see the outside, Proxima agrees and both of them go to the entrance of the base. General Timofey wears a space suit and made Proxima questions, "What is that for?", "Since Mars's atmosphere has less oxygen than on Earth, we have to use this to keep us alive in the dangerous environment of Mars", General Timofey explained, Proxima nodded and both of them enters the depressurizing chamber. General Timofey presses the depressurize button and the pressure inside the chamber they're in is lowered to Mars's pressure. The door to the outside of the base is opened and both of them get out, then Proxima is surprised by the snowy ground and reddish ground from afar. Proxima sees the base with 4 main sections and 2 smaller ones, next to the base is a Russian flag on a flagpole gallery type.

There's another base nearby with a flag that it's still unknown to Proxima. The flag has two red horizontal stripes and a red leaf in the center of the flag. "That is the Martian Arctic Base for the Canadian Space Agency or MABCSA", said General Timofey, "What is Canadian?", asked Proxima. Timofey sighs and said, "Let's go back inside, I need to teach you more about stuff". The both of them go inside, General Timofey presses the button again but this time, it pressurizes to Earth's air pressure. General Timofey takes off his cosmonaut suit and goes to the place where General Timofey teaches Proxima, and Proxima quickly follows behind.

General Timofey then teaches him about humanity's geography, he also teaches about flags, symbols, and Earth's map. "We are from the Russian Federation, the biggest country on Earth,  you can simply call it Russia. Now, I'm part of the Russian Space Forces which is part of the Russian Aerospace Forces which is part of the Russian Armed Forces", explained General Timofey, "We also worked with 30 other countries which are the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, South Korea, China, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Germany, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Greece, Poland, Italy, Ireland, Latvia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Estonia, Switzerland, Romania, Portugal, Austria, Sweden, Spain, Hungary, and Luxembourg", said General Timofey, "It's so nice you have so many allies!", replied Proxima, "Yeah, but it's not always like that, my friend Sergey will now teach you about history", General Timofey introduced Sergey as his friend. After a long day, Proxima is tired and goes to his bed and then sleeps.
