Chapter VI - Project Centaurus

While on the way there, Toli learned some Russian words taught by General Timofey and Proxima, and she feels confident having a conversation with a Russian person. A few minutes later, they arrived at Olympus Mons Martian Base, and the soldiers there didn't clear their attacks against them yet. Proxima, General Timofey, and Toli get out of their vehicle with their weapons and start shooting the attackers. Toli's detection is more advanced than Proxima that she shot an attacker's battery. The spaceship with the damaged battery crashed, and Toli continued to attack the other attackers. Other attackers are searching for who shot them, and then they discovered Toli shooting them. The attackers began to attack Toli, but she shot their batteries first causing them to crash too. Vatulians are beginning to retreat from their designated target.

[Is Toli overpowered?]

One of the American soldiers approached Timofey and said, "The U.S Chief of Space Operations is waiting for you, General Drozdov". Timofey and the other two visit the U.S. Space Force General Zachary Melendez's office located in the Olympus Mons Martian Base. "Please have a seat, and oh I see you found a new extraterrestrial creature," Zachary said, "Yes, her name is Toli," General Timofey said, "That reminds me of Toliman, the nickname for the Alpha Centauri B star," Zachary said, "Her name is Alpha Centauri B, but she said we can call her Toli," Proxima explained, "Ah, that explains," Zachary replied. "So how do you get Toli on our side?" Zachary asked, and then Proxima and General Timofey explained everything while Toli sit comfortably on a couch, and relaxed from all the fighting. Proxima continues to explain how bad the Vatulian government system is that it makes Proxima and Toli want to escape from that quote-unquote, hellhole country. Zachary is surprised by how big the intergalactic country is, but it remains undetected by humanity.

After Zachary hears the story, he then plans a meeting for every top-ranking official from space agencies. He announces it to everyone and waits for it, "You can wait in the meeting room if you want," Zachary said to Proxima and General Timofey, "Hey Toli, come," Proxima said. The three walk through the hallway, enter the meeting room, and wait silently. A few people came into the room, and one of them is the Administrator of ROSCOSMOS, then General Timofey and the admin greeted each other. After thirty minutes, two people entered the room and saw Proxima and Toli occupy their chairs. Proxima realized and apologize to them, "Toli let's go," Proxima said, and they decided to stand up next to the doors. And finally, General Zachary is the last person to enter the meeting room, and he announces his plan to everyone, he also called this plan; Project Centaurus. The people there discussed if the project is good enough to fight against the Vatulians, and they agreed to do it. "Let's start working, shall we?" Zachary asked. plan

All of the space agencies begin to work on the project. They start by recovering crashed spacecraft and then repairing them so it is operational for combat again. The Americans and Russians have never improved their relations this much which is a massive achievement for both countries. Defense ministers from the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Japan, and China meet with each other in London, and they agree to fund each other's military and strengthen their relations.

While people are working on the project, General Timofey told Proxima and Toli to come to the Russian Space Forces Valles Marineris Base (RSFVMB). A few hours later, they arrived there. "Do you want to join the Russian Space Forces officially?" General Timofey asked. Proxima was shocked, "Of course, I want to!" Proxima said excitingly, and General Timofey laughed. "Let's see your potential, shall we?" asked General Timofey, and then they went inside the base. Hours later, Proxima appeared with a slight change, and that is his shoulder pad displaying the Russian Space Forces insignia.

Meanwhile, the people on Earth are also creating spaceships but not from destroyed spaceships. The Vatulians are taking a break while orbiting Mars, and they are thinking their hardest to come up with a better plan since one of their best soldiers (Toli) has betrayed them. They think they should attack planet Earth first, and they estimate that the planet only has 1 billion people.

The U.S Space Forces tested their first repaired spaceship and it flies for 5 seconds with Toli watching them the whole time. "Hey, can you help us repair this?" asked an engineer, Toli doesn't understand the word 'repair' yet but she understands the rest of the sentence. She stands up from her seat and grabs the tools they need. After about half an hour, they finished fixing the spaceship, and then they start testing it. The spacecraft flies for hours without shutting down, and Toli is appreciated because of her help. Toli begins to start repairing more spaceships and is beginning to get tired. Some engineers who watched her remembered what she did and tried it themselves. A few of them worked and taught the others how to repair them. On Earth, people there are testing if their human-made spacecraft works in outer space. Their spaceships are solar-powered so they don't have to land just to recharge. [Was that unrealistic?] One of the spacecraft takes off from Earth's surface and is caught in low Earth orbit. They haven't figured out how to warp drive yet so they won't join the war against the Vatulians if they are going to fight in the Alpha Centauri system.

Vatulian spaceships have started aligning to planet Earth and are charging to warp there. Militaries, primarily the air forces of every nation are watching the skies to see if any invaders are coming. The Vatulians are ready to warp to Earth, and the pilots push a button and warp to Earth's sphere of influence, and then they reached planet Earth and decent to low Earth orbit.
