A week or two passes quickly. Izaya works almost everyday with short hours while Shizuo, through Izaya's connections, works as a construction worker.
It was 7:02 pm when Izaya returned. He counted on his fingers and sighed.
"2 hours and 28 minutes until Shizu-chan gets off work.''
Izaya frowned at his statement.
No. Wait. Am I...keeping track of the time until Shizu-chan comes home...? No, no.
He pinched both cheeks, as if to wake himself up. But he knew that he was very much awake.
"Damn it...I'm hungry...''
Izaya curled up on a sofa.
"Hurry up and come home, idiotic monster.''

Shizuo reached the door of their apartment and pulled out his keys, a copy given to him when they decided to live here.
His face twitched into a weirdly shaped smile as he got giddy, thinking of how similar it was when living with a lover.
He unlocked the door roughly and found the lights on, but it was silent.
"Izaya?''
Shizuo headed to the small living room to find the flea resting on a couch, asleep.
His breath was regularly paced as the small man's chest came up and down.
Not knowing what to do, Shizuo rubbed his head and sheepishly took out a blanket for him. Gently placing it on him, Shizuo rummaged the kitchen for instant ramen.
"Good thing they sell this here, huh.''
Shizuo started mumbling to himself about this and that.
As soon as he took a shower, he went to check up on Izaya, who was still asleep.
"Shit...aren't you hungry or something, don't sleep so long...''
Somewhat annoyed and lonely, Shizuo brought Izaya to their bedroom, since there was only one bedroom, and fell asleep afterwards.

Shizuo opened one eyelid. Then he opened the second. He reached out instinctively to where Izaya usually slept, but he wasn't there. Now though, the smell of eggs invaded the room.
Grinning, Shizuo got up slowly and quietly. After stalking to the kitchen, he blew into Izaya's ear.
Izaya let out a yelp, and Shizuo, knowing he'd be surprised, grabbed him.
"W-What...What are you...that scared the shit out of me...''
"Mm, I know.''
Even though he was frowning, Izaya didn't resist and his cheeks darkened in color.
Both men heard the doorbell ring as Izaya opened the door. In front stood a short woman with curly blonde hair.
Shizuo's first thoughts were that her eyes were creepily blue.
"Nicole? What is it, this early?''
The corners of her mouth went into a U-shape as she replied,
"Ah, this is for you. To just help you out a bit~''
She handed him a brown bag.
Shizuo noticed Izaya put on a smile he'd never seen before.
"What the hell...''
He muttered it quietly, but the girl still noticed him.
Her shoulders slumped down conspicuously as her mouth opened.
"I thought you lived alone.''
"Haha, this guy is just a freeloader.''
Nicole giggled in a high pitch.
Shizuo didn't understand what they were saying, but he did think she was laughing a bit too much. The only English Shizuo really knew was, "Will you go out with me?'', since he was searching for different ways to ask people out.
It was lame, but it came in handy for times like this.
"Do you want to go out next weekend, Izaya?''
