The white and intimidating police station loomed above him as Izaya looked up apprehensively.
"That dumbass, getting into trouble in America.''
When he entered, a tall man stopped him to ask for his ID.
"I'm here for Shizuo Heiwajima.''
He felt weird saying the the first name first, but it was America.
A group of people led him to a corridor where Shizuo sat on a bench.
An officer with a beard approached him with a rather hostile mood.
"Izaya Orihara, I presume.''
He winced at the man's bad pronunciation, but Izaya nodded grimly.
"Alright, please sign here and fill this out...''
Around an hour later, he stretched his fingers from the paperwork.
Izaya motioned to Shizuo, who had been silent the whole time.
"Come on, let's go.''
Almost reluctantly, the blonde got up and trudged alongside the shorter man.
Their way back home was silent though Izaya had a lot of questions on his mind.
Upon reaching their apartment, Izaya swallowed and spoke.
"Hey, uh, Shizu-chan. ...what were you doing before you fought?''
"...nothing.''
"Even when it was raining?''
"Guess so.''
"Then, um, what caused that fight?''
"Me.''
"...why'd you start it, then?''
"Felt like it.''
Hearing his short responses annoyed Izaya as he said,
"Can you stay out of trouble for once?''
"......''
"....fine. Sure, whatever.''
What's with him? If there was no reason to start the fight, he shouldn't have fought! This is all so annoying. I was even waiting for him to come back home while he was doing nothing. He likes me? What bullshit. It only goes to a certain extent, huh.
"I'll sleep in the living room tonight.''
"Huh?''
"Be glad, you'll get the bed to yourself and not with a troublesome person like me.''
"What? That's-''
Shizuo made his way to the bathroom, slamming the door.
I hate his mood swings so much. Why does he have to act like this? Alright, calm down. It doesn't do any good right now anyway.
Later that night, climbing into the now too big bed, Izaya tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep. Placing his hand on the adjacent pillow, he muttered,
"Has the bed always been this big?''
