I was having the best time with Brett and Jake after that humiliating cheerleading practice. We talked about our best subjects, our hobbies, and our favorite clubs.
" You know, I am in the Glee club." I said.
" Really? Wow! That's amazing. I saw a school anniversary assembly poster and saw a super cute girl." Jake said.
" I think her name was Scarlett." Brett said.UGH! Scarlett? They like Scarlett?! I'm much better, I'm the pretty one, not her!
"Scarlett's really cute, we go to P.E. with her. She can run faster than me! I can't wait to hear her sing at the school anniversary assembly." Jake said excitedly.
" She is a great singer. We're good friends at the Glee Club, we actually hang out a lot!" I lied.
" Do you think you can ask her if she can hang out with us?" Brett asked hopefully.
"Sure!" I said with a forced smile.
"Ok then, let's go eat dinner!" Jake said.
I was angry, mad, and unhappy. I texted Scarlett and told her to meet me at the park tomorrow morning. The next morning, I saw Scarlett waiting for me at the park.
" Hey Lana!" Scarlett said.
" Hi..." I replied coolly.
" There are these two new kids at school and they want to talk to you." I said with a hint of jealousy.
" Oh, you mean Brett and Jake. I know them, they're in my P.E. class." Scarlett said casually.
" Well, you can talk to them and hang out but they're mine got it? So just talk, nothing else. No going to their room, going to the movies, nothing!" I instructed in an annoyed voice.
" Ok! I got it. I wouldn't talk to them much." Scarlett said uncomfortably.
" Fine! After the "talk", come to my dorm and tell me how it went." I said.
Today after lunch, Scarlett came to my room and talked to me.
" So, how'd it go?" I asked curiously.
" Well, Brett said that he likes me a lot and that he might join the Glee Club because of me." Scarlett said while looking embarrassed..
Why would Brett join the Glee Club because of her?! Not me? I caressed her face with an angry glare.
"And?" I pushed on.
" Jake tried to ask me out but I told them I had a date tonight. He also said he couldn't wait to hear me sing." Scarlett answered nonchalantly.
" Well, you're free to go." I snapped. Scarlett walked out and closed the door. I am going to explode!!! Thank god I still have a chance.
