Carrie's birthday is so fun! Steven was just a little to my right chatting with Jay and Carrie and Madeline was having fun throwing water balloons at Jasper. Ava was also standing next to them with a water gun shooting at a bunch of our classmates.Suddenly, I felt a hand on my shoulder, "Do you want some punch?" the person asked. I turned around, it was Jake. I hesitated and said, "Sure," as he handed me a glass of watermelon punch. He leaned on a chair and stared at me for what seemed like eternity. I decided to break the awkward silence and asked, "So, are you having fun?"
"Yeah, but I was wondering if you wanted to go swim with me in the pool later!" he replied.
I felt like it was a queer offer, so I said "Wait a sec," and rushed to find Carrie. After I found her with the boys, I pulled her over to a white, polished bench and I told her what happened. Carrie averted her gaze from me to give Jake a glare.
"Well, you can go, only if you want to. But I'll also bring the boys, so we can have fun together while keeping an eye on Jake," she replied with another wary glance at Jake.
I went back to find Jake and soon, Carrie and the boys rushed over. I took in Jay's muscular arm wrapped protectively around Carrie's slim waist, and Steven looked uncomfortable while staring at Jake next to me. Is he jealous? Oh, WOW! I giggled to myself and waved at him. Jake brushed against my arm, and I saw Steven giving him an angry look. Carrie nudged Jay, and they walked off towards the dressing rooms.
"So, um, I'll also go change!" I said as I grabbed my new blue one piece made like an off-shoulder blouse. I saw Carrie in the dressing room, she was putting on a cute leopard print high waisted bikini with a black top that showed off her small hip, and flat belly. After I finished changing, Carrie and Jay were already outside waiting for me.
