A Day After the Second Battle...
Xiao woke up in an unfamiliar environment. He was on a mat on the floor, with a blanket over him. He jumped up, but immediately regretted it. Every muscle in his body felt sore.
Where am I..? he thought, Where's Ganyu? Was it all a dream? Xiao hoped so, but he was pretty sure he wasn't dreaming.
He slowly dragged himself to the door, leaning on it to catch his breath. When he opened it, he saw a middle aged man kneeling on a mat by a small table, sipping tea. By the man was a big traveling pack. There was also a small pot hanging over a fire, but nothing more. The man turned toward him.
"Ahh...it seems you have finally awoken." he said, setting down his tea cup, "Come," he said pouring some tea into another teacup, "sit down, let's have a chat shall we?"
Xiao hesitated, but slowly made his way to the table and sat opposite of the man. His hands wrapped around the warm teacup. He sipped some tea, realizing how thirsty he had been.
"Where am I? Who are you?" Xiao croaked, his voice hoarse. The man chuckled.
"Why, you're in my humble abode in Guili Plains." the man said, pouring more tea into Xiao's teacup. "It's such an honor to have you here, Adeptus Xiao. My name is Li, I am a traveling merchant."
"H-how do you know my name?" Xiao asked, his eyes narrowing.
Li laughed wholeheartedly, "Haha, well you talk a little in your sleep." Xiao felt his cheeks flush a little.
"Well," Xiao said, standing up, "I should go."
"Are you sure? Should I pack something for you?"
"No thanks. I appreciate your hospitality." Xiao said bowing slightly at Li.
"If you say so then..." Li said, standing up too, "Safe travels."
After a nice rest and two cups of tea, Xiao felt his energy returning slowly, and he was ready to set off.
Fatui... he thought, standing still for a moment, Fatui in Liyue... the answer was clear enough, the only Liyue branch of the Fatui was Northland Bank. Hang on Ganyu... Xiao thought as he teleported to Northland Bank, I'm coming for you.
_ _ _
When Xiao reached Northland Bank, he noticed there were more guards posted at the entrance than usual. He knocked them all out, one by one. He flung open the doors of the bank, walking inside. With every Fatui agent that came at him, he simply just slashed through them with his polearm. He walked further into the bank, where he stopped.
Laughter... Xiao thought, his eyebrows furrowing, cold, evil laughter.
He paused at the door, where he could hear that annoying Fatui Harbinger talking to his troops.
"If we keep this adeptus, we might be able to lure the other one here, because he's the one we actually want." Childe said.
Xiao felt anger bubbling up inside him.
"Is this what the people of Liyue call an adeptus? Look at her, all useless and helpless!" Childe mocked, laughing.
Xiao heard Childe's troops laugh along with him, and his fists balled up.
"Where are you Adeptus Xiao?" Childe taunted, "Come save your little girlfriend before she dies."
More laughter.
I'll be walking right into their trap, Xiao thought, but I have to save Ganyu. I'll just grab her, and teleport away. I'll win the battle if there is one.
Xiao pushed open the doors.
"I'm here." Xiao growled, walking right in. He saw Ganyu lying limp and unconscious, on the floor, tied up. The Fatui turned to him. Childe raised an eyebrow.
"Oh?" he said, "Come to save your girlfriend at last?" he smirked.
"She's not my girlfriend." Xiao said, seething with rage. He walked toward the harbinger. A Fatui Legionnaire stood up, but was stopped by Childe.
"Now now, wouldn't you like a nice fair battle?" Childe asked Xiao, "Just a one on one? You and me?"
"Sir are you sure?" the legionnaire asked, "He's and adept-" Childe glared at him, and he shut up.
"Fine." Xiao snapped, "Let's see how long your body will last against my blows."
_ _ _
Childe started shooting his arrows, infusing them with Hydro. Xiao kept dodging them, and when he saw an opening, he lunged at Childe, determined to slice him into pieces. Childe simply deflected Xiao's attack with his bow, and kicked him off. Xiao tumbled backwards, but landed on his feet. Childe finally scored a hit on Xiao, leaving him with a bloody arm, but not enough to kill him.
"I guess I should use my Raging Tide technique, to make things more fair." Childe said, using his Elemental Skill.
The two charged each other, Hydro blades against a jade spear. Xiao was able to slice Childe two times, before getting a taste of Childe's Hydro blade. He stumbled back. Childe shot a few more arrows at Xiao. His troops laughed.
What am I doing? Xiao thought, breathing heavily, I have to be more serious.
He put on his Yaksha's mask, and plunged on Childe. Once. Twice. Three times. Childe fell to the ground. Xiao advanced.
"Oh? Shall I use my transformation too?" Childe laughed, coughing out some blood.
Xiao was about to stab Childe, but he rolled out of the way. Xiao's polearm got caught in the ground. Childe shot Xiao with a Hydro infused arrow, leaving him in the Riptide effect. He was about to shoot Xiao with another arrow, but he dashed out of the way, and used the Lemniscatic Wind Cycling technique on him, before slashing him a few times with his Anemo infused weapon.
Childe coughed out some more blood, and looked over at his troops. They looked worried. He couldn't lose in front of them. He used his Foul Legacy Transformation, sure that the adeptus couldn't survive.
Instead of facing Childe, Xiao ran over to Ganyu and grabbed her.
The goal is to bring Ganyu back home, not to kill Childe. Xiao thought, carrying Ganyu so that her head was facing his back.
"After them!" Childe ordered. He couldn't lose the adepti a second time.
Fatui agents ran over to Xiao, and he felt one grab his leg, but it was too late. He used the last of his strength to teleport to Wangshu Inn. A second later, he and Ganyu were back in Room 87. Xiao collapsed on the bed, unaware that Ganyu was still in his arms, and fell asleep, holding her tight to him. ________________________________________________________________________________

Sorry if this chapter was a little short compared to the other two before it. And sorry if the battle was too short too, but Xiao's goal was to rescue Ganyu, not kill Childe, as he had told himself. And sorry (not sorry) if we killed you with the last line. Xiao still doesn't have feelings for Ganyu yet mind you (sorry not sorry again lol), but he will. Not very soon though (sorry still not sorry).
Anyways...
