Kirins are mythical horse-like creatures from Chinese Mythology! They're actually really interesting, since legends say when a Kirin appears, it means a great ruler is about to be born.
Chinese mythology is actually pretty interesting, and I'm not just saying that bc I am Chinese lmao, I should prob start researching more haha
