A Day To Remember

CHAPTER 10: OUR HEARTBEAT

"Yah, Lee Jeno!"she shouted as she ran through the pouring rain. Jeno turned to the voice but he blinked for a few times when they ended up below the roof of the bus stop together. "What are you doing here?"he asked.

"Fishing."she answered mentally and she replied to his question with a smile.

"My mom couldn't pick me up today, so i'm waiting for my bus." He nodded then turned forward to look at the road and ignored her like these past few days.

Jihyun pouted while staring at his side profile. She thought it was weird. He's usually the one who always greeted her first, but she didn't know what she did wrong. Why he was ignoring her this way. It hurted her, and she didn't know why. "Yah, Jeno."she called out.

He replied with a short hum while the girl huffed, making him look at her with raised eyebrows. She held her librarian nametag and showed it to him. "Look, are you proud of me?"

"Hm."he replied with the same way as before. She huffed again and approached his figure to stand at his side. Jeno noticed it, but he kept telling himself to ignore the butterflies in his stomach.

"Urrgghhh it's cold."she complained while rubbing her arms and exhaling hot breaths on her palms then rubbed it together. Jeno's heart soften at her state. No matter how much he fought with his feelings, it will always come back the same way.

The rain began to pour heavily as Jihyun moved closer Jeno's warm body. But she noticed a thing was placed on her shoulders and covered her body. She turned to see Jeno without his blazer. He smiled to her and approached her body to fix it.

Her heart was beating so loud, that she swore it could jump out anytime. He was centimetres close to her and she could feel his hot breath fanning her face. Jeno also froze in his spot and stared at her beautiful features.

It was like the time stopped. They were the only persons in this world and they could hear each other's heartbeat clearly.

Until they heard a loud sound coming towards them and parked on their side. They turned to the left in unison and sighed in relief when the bus finally arrived. Jihyun was about to take off Jeno's blazer but his hand stopped her.

"You can keep it."he said with a monotone voice. Then he walked in like nothing happened. She pouted and tailed behind him. They ended up beside each other again as Jeno was sitting beside the window and Jihyun was beside him.

"Stop ignoring me."she said. Jeno replied with no sound, making Jihyun turn to him and made a cute pouting face. He widen his eyes while his cheeks redden.

"And... aren't you like the richest boy in school? Why are you using the bus today?"she asked and leaned closer to his face with eyes that were growing suspision of him. She acted like a detective by examining his eyes. But it did nothing except making he fall for her more.

"I- i wanted to spend my own time today."he finally answered while his hand was pushing her off him softly. She nodded and her face turned cute again. "Then stop ignoring me! I was so lonely without you..." He frowned. "Don't you have Jaemin?"

"But you're my seatmate!"she nudged his arm and folded her own arms in a cute but natural manner. Jeno nodded and chuckled a little while she did the same. "But where are you going?"she asked. Jeno thought for a while. "Anywhere."he replied.

"Then can i follow you??"
