A Day To Remember

CHAPTER 16: CHRISTMAS

24th December, 2022.

The house was filled with laughter and classic christmas songs to light up the mood. They were all at Jeno's house and of course, his father was out of Korea. But he didn't care. He was happy enough with his friends beside him. Even Chenle and Jisung who was playing with the balloons and making fart noises.

Yuna, Jihyun and Eunseo were baking the cake. A few of his maids were helping them while Renjun played video games with Jaemin. Originally, he asked Chenle to play with him, but he was obsessed with the balloons. Thank god Jeno didn't buy it with helium gases or this house would go down anytime.

Jeno was watching the boys playing the racing game while chewing the gingerbreads Jihyun made for him. Amd of course he would finish it until the last piece. For Jihyun his one and only, most beautiful and intelligent girlfriend.

He sighed when Renjun lose the game and turned to Jaemin. "Yah, when did Jaemin became more good than you?" Renjun glared at him and made his way to the kitchen. Now, it was only the two bestfriends in the living room.

"You look happier." Jaemin commented.

"I really do." Jeno answered.

They both smiled at each other and continued talking about random things until they smelled the aroma of chocolate coming into the room. They gasped when they saw the big cake on the dining table.

Jihyun saw the two boys running towards her as she placed a few forks and plates on the table. Yuna and Eunseo were jumping up and down while holding each other's hands when she felt Chenji was suddenly behind her.

"Ah, you scared me!"she rubbed her chest while the two yougest laughed awkwardly and took the plates to eat the cake. She smiled and went to the kitchen to wash her hands when a pair of arms hugged her from behind.

She was shocked at first, but she calmed down when she smelled his cologne perfume that he often wore. She held his hand and turned towards his face. She cupped his cheeks while he pouted.

"Aiisshh... you want a kiss, don't you?" He nodded. She leaned and kissed his lips for a few seconds before letting go and they stared at each other for a while.

"You're so beautiful... hehe..." he grinned while she laughed at his cute attitude. She pecked his forehead and asked. "What did you wish for?" He shook his head. "I can't tell you!" Sticking his touge out, he ran away from the kitchen while Jihyun cursed under her breath and chased him.

"Lee Jeno! Come here!"

The group laughed seeing them as they finished the cake without leaving any piece for them.

25th December, 2022

"From: Jeno
To: Mom

Mom, it's been a long time... how are you doing up there? I can't see you, i can't hear you. But i'll try to be happier without you. It's hard, but i found some good friends. You probably know Jaemin, Renjun, Yuna, Chenle and Jisung, but now we have Jihyun and Eunseo too. And Jihyun is now my girlfriend. Wow, right?

Anyways, it was a great year and i'm glad i'm finishing it with a great time. I miss you and i'm here to tell you my wish for 2022's christmas. It might be similar from last year, but i promise you, it's different.

I wish that you will always be in my heart, i wish dad would talk to me at least once. I wish my friends and i would stay like this, and i wish Jihyun and i would get married in the future. I wish the stars in the sky would be more brighter and lead people to better place somewhere. I wish that the time would stop and i could live this moment forever.

Thank you, mom. For giving birth to me and raising me since i was little. Without you, i could never see that this world is more beautiful then it seems. Thank you, for everything.

He wrapped the letter in a white paper and kept it in the brown box. Then, a knock on the door was heard so he shouted. "Come in!!" The door cracked open, revealing a smiling Jihyun in a long white dress. She looked beautiful as always.

"Chenle wanted to play freeze and tag with you. Wanna come down?"

He smiled and came running towards before lifting her up and spun her around. "Yah, yaahhh put me down!" He laughed and put her down on the floor while she pouted and hit his chest playfully. Jeno pecked her lips and ran downstairs.

"Zhong Chenle, you're gonna lose this time!!!"
