Chapter 12

Steve's P.O.V
Everyone was making their way through the gate again.  Eddie was completely still, just staring at the wall, then sudden realisation set in. Vecna got him. I ran over to his side, his eyes glossed over, rolling into the back of his head. "GUYS?! IT HAPPENED AGAIN!" I shouted to everyone else, pure terror lacing my words. Everyone scrambled around the trailer trying to find any of Eddie's mixtapes, luckily mike found some in his room but we didn't know which one was his favourite one, "MIKE! TOSS DOWN AS MANY OF THEM AS POSSIBLE!! WE HAVE TO FIND HIS FAVOURITE SONG!! WE ARE NOT LOSING HIM AGAIN!" Dustin screamed, I nodded violently in agreement, Mike threw down as many tapes as he could hold. We scrambled around every single tape, desperately trying to find one, then we found an iron maiden one. "This has to be it!" I said hopefully, I tossed the tape back to mike and demanded he play it on the radio, he ran over to the radio and placed the tape in, holding it up as high as he could so Eddie could hear it. "Come on, come on Eddie please...please wake up. Please." I said, I was on my knees begging Eddie to wake up from the trance, tears streaming down my face. After a terribly long minute, his eyes blinked and he was back. Everyone ran over to him and gave him so many reassuring hugs and a few questions were asked. I then ran over to his side, took his hands, pulled him close and instantly kissed him. Once we pulled away I hugged him tight and patted his hair, telling him over and over that it's ok, he's here with us again.

After explaining his situation, everyone fell silent. Nancy spoke up after a long minute of silence, "so at any time Vecna could be planning to come for Steve? To do what he did at the lab with Eddie?" Eddie nodded in sadness. "Yeah, he said that since my connection with him was severed, he's going to come for Steve next because he is still connected and hasn't refused his possession like I did, he said that we are strong but stronger together." "That's like the millionth time you mentioned that. Why does he keep saying that? It has to be important somehow!" Robin points out. Eddie and I shrugged, "we aren't sure man, I mean maybe cause I was able to get Eddie out of his trance but that can't be the only thing. Right?" I said confused. "I mean there's always something more, we just haven't figured out what yet." Mike said from the normal trailer. "Lets just head back, we can figure out a proper plan tomorrow." Johnathan said. I couldn't stand around waiting anymore, I clenched my fists with rage.

"We can't just wait anymore! There's no other way to get out of this mess! I'm not gonna just stand around until something happens or there's a plan, that's just too risky! We never know when I could get entranced by Vecna, I could end up hurting one of you, and I don't want to do that. So I am going to find Vecna and take care of him before any of you guys decide to risk your lives for me." I blew up. Everyone was silent and Eddie reached out a hand to me, I looked at him with sadness, anger, sorrow and impatience. I ran out of the upside down park and shifted again. I heard the others calling out my name as I ran off. I felt bad just taking off like that but I had to do something, I just couldn't stand around waiting anymore. My large wolf paws thudding against the ground as I ran, tears started to fall against my muzzle, but I kept running. I sniffed the air and tried to find any traces of Vecna. Something, anything that could lead me to him. I had to kill this son of a bitch.

I heard the familiar sound of wings flapping hard behind me, thinking it was Eddie I began to growl a warning, a growl saying that I don't want him to get hurt and he needs to go back, but I wasn't greeted with gorgeous crimson eyes. Instead there was a swarm of demobats headed right for me, Vecna was close and he wasn't going to let me pass by. I started to panic, what could I do against this swarm of bats?! I had nothing to fend myself with and I don't think I could jump high enough to attack, I started to regret going off without any help but it was too late now. I ran towards the swarm of angry bats, and started to gnash my large jaws at them, leaping at them with as much force and height has possible. I threw some around and into each other, slamming my huge wolf body into them, half of the swarm fell to the ground dead but the other half was fast approaching. My fur was soaked with monster blood, I was getting tired, heavily breathing out of exhaustion. I lied down on the ground, trying to regain my strength to fend off the other demonic bats fast approaching, as I lied there I heard the faint sound of music. I couldn't tell what it was but it was getting louder the closer it got, I whimpered at the sound, the sharp sound piercing my wolf ears. As I looked up I saw a familiar sight, huge bat wings with a tail hanging to his ankles, long black hair just up to his shoulders, a red electric guitar and those beautiful crimson, blood red eyes. Eddie 'the hero' Munson.

As he approached the bats began to listen to him again, it sounded like he commanded they go away and leave me be, they seemed to hesitate at first but then they left. Eddie flew down to my side, "Stevie..." he said softly. He flew straight into my furry flank and hugged me tightly. I nuzzled him to return the hug. "Look Steve, I know your tired of waiting, and your tired of seeing your friends getting hurt. But running off like that isn't going to solve anything! You really scared us Steve, you really scared me." He said calmly scolding me. I instantly felt terrible. I let out a whimper, attempting to apologise, but he didn't seem to understand. So I smiled a small bit and just nuzzled him with my wolfy muzzle. He laughed lightly at the wolf hug, "it's ok Stevie boy, I know. I know." He reassured me. I hugged him for what felt like forever, like there could've been a nuclear problem and nothing would matter except for being here with Eddie.

Unfortunately for me, I heard something, and by Eddie's expression he heard it too. It was coming from the abandoned Creel House. We weren't too far from it so it's no surprise we heard it. I motioned towards the house and Eddie understood completely. I ran off with Eddie close behind me, his wings flapping harshly, and soon enough we had reached the house. As we approached I decided to become myself again. I started to brush off any leftover fur from my clothes as I shifted back. "Goddamn it, I didn't know I was shedding, I'll need to get a better grip on that." I half joked. Eddie laughed lightly, but of course, the moment was ruined by a pitch black vine wrapping its way around my ankle. As it grabbed me I fell to the ground with a yell, luckily Eddie noticed the sudden fall, "SHIT! STEVE HOLD ON!" He shouted, he whipped his tail around my wrist, trying to break me free, I grabbed on with my other hand, trying to get out. Then get another vine wrapped around my other ankle, "SHIT SHIT SHIT! STEVE JUST HOLD ON!!" He shouted again, he flew a little into the sky trying to tow me free from the vines, but it wasn't working. More vines started to wrap themselves around my legs, then my waist and then my chest. Pulling me down I let go of Eddie's tail. "NO NO NO NO!! STEVIE!!" Eddie pleaded with tears pricking his eyes, I screamed as I was dragged into the house.

I was brought up to the attic, low and behold Vecna was there, he was strung up with vines connecting him to charge up or something I don't know. But it looked so similar to how it was in the lab, where I found Eddie possessed. Oh shit, shit shit shit shit!! No, this must mean that...I guess it's my turn now...fuck. I saw Vecna hanging there, he slowly lifted his head up, and came towards me, the vines still wrapped around my body, I began to struggle. "There is no need to struggle Steve. You just have to join me, and no one will be hurt." He said ominously. I glared at him, "go burn in hell. You will not control me or Eddie anymore." I snarled. He got closer, his large hand started to snake it's way towards my face, I began to struggle harder. "Ed-!" I started but my mouth was quickly sealed with yet another vine. "You and Eddie are the same, that is why I need you both on my side. You will both realise your potential soon enough." He said darkly. His hand reached my face and I faded out of consciousness, the last thought on my mind was 4 words. "Eddie, I love you."
