Chapter 7

Eddie's P.O.V
I stayed in Steve's pocket as Will asked him the full wolf question but Steve didn't reply. At first I thought he was thinking about it but then it was a second, then 5 seconds, it didn't take this long to think about a simple question so I looked up to his face in horror. His eyes rolled in the back of his head, this could only happen because of one thing....Vecna. I flew out of his pocket and in a puff of smoke I was myself again. I vigorously shook Steve's shoulders, "Steve! STEVE! HARRINGTON WAKE UP!" I shouted. I couldn't lose someone else to Vecna, not again. And this time I wouldn't run. Everyone else around me took notice and started to panic, "QUICK I HAVE A WALKMAN AND MIXTAPES IN MY BAG! GRAB THEM ALL AND HURRY!"Dustin shouted to Robin. She scrambled for the bag and grabbed as many as possible, "EDDIE WHATS HIS FAVOURITE SONG?!" Dustin exclaimed. "HENDERSON NOWS NOT THE TIME FOR MUSIC! AND THATS COMING FROM ME!" I shouted back, then Dustin rolled his eyes and shouts again, "NO NOWS THE PERFECT TIME! ITS A LOT TO EXPLAIN RIGHT NOW SO WHATS HIS FAVOURITE SONG?!" I scrambled my brain trying to think, trying to remember what his favourite song was, "FIRST BLOOD FROM AC/DC!" I cried. "NOT YOUR FAVOURITE SONG DINGUS! YOU KNOW STEVE LIKES THE SOPPY SHIT!" Robin shouted back to me, "TRUST ME ITS HIS FAVOURITE! HE FINALLY HAS REASONABLE TASTES!" I tried to joke but found myself in near tears. Everyone searched the sea of cassette tapes, "SHIT! ITS NOT HERE!" Dustin cried, I banged my fists on the ground in anger, then I remembered why Steve told me that in the first place. "I'm gonna sing it to him!" I explained. Everyone just looked at me confused. "Are you sure that will work?!" Johnathan questioned. I nodded my head vigorously, "that's how he told me in the first place! Just trust me!" I put a hand up to everyone for silence and I started singing at the top of my lungs, trying to get the lyrics through to him. After what seemed like eternity, he finally woke up, but as everyone went to comfort him, he had changed. He was the size of a bear, I smiled ear to ear, excitement building inside me. Nancy quickly showed him what we were looking at with a small hand mirror she had on her, his eyes widened in surprise, he did it, he was a fully grown wolf.

His brown fur was soft to the touch and his eyes glowed yellow. Then I saw something odd on his snout, a white shape that looked oddly like a heart. After everyone else took noticed they all stifled laughs, "Steve you really have a heart don't you?" Robin teased, poor Steve didn't know about the heart shaped blob on his snout, it was pretty small so it's hard to miss, but I just laughed lightly at him. I am so close to confessing my feelings it's not even funny, he's just so cute without even trying. "Can you try to shift back?" Will asked. Steve nodded his big head and low and behold, after a few seconds Steve was his regular old self again, unfortunately for his shift, he lost his clothes due to the transformation. I blushed such a deep red, I looked like the blood I drank for breakfast, Steve blushed a tomato red in embarrassment. Me and everyone else had averted their eyes and Dustin threw a blanket at him from his bag. Steve looked thankful but super embarrassed. "Hopefully I can learn to keep my clothes on after transforming." He sheepishly replied. "We'd better hope so, having to bring clothes everywhere will be a pain in the ass." Dustin added. He nodded and smiled at Steve. "But to back on to what just happened, why is Vecna going after Steve and Eddie?" Johnathan pointed out. "That reminds me, I need to tell you guys something. Something Vecna said to me in the upside down while I was possessed."

"So wait wait, Vecna wants the both us under his control, because of our situations? Why?" I replied confused. "He said we are connected, we can't live without each other, that we are powerful together. And that there's potential in the both of us, for us to become his puppets and serve in his army." Steve explained. Everyone had a tense look on their faces, Vecna wanted to use me, and the man I cared for and loved so much, just to be some puppets in a monster army. No fucking way was I gonna let that happen, "ok that's it. This piece of shit Vecna is not going to have us join his army, I will not let him hurt any more people I care about. We have to stop him once and for all." I said, a ball of anger building up inside of me. Steve nodded in agreement, "so we make up a plan to stop him. We will need El's help. She is a vital role in this, as much as I don't want you guys to come with us in case of anything going wrong, I think you'll have to come to the upside down with us." Nancy said to the both of us. We shared a look of worry then smiled and turned to Nancy, "we'll come." We said in unison. "If anything happens, we can help each other get through it." Steve said, I nod in agreement. "So it's settled. Robin, call your boss and tell him you and Steve are on a trip and won't be back for a while to make up for your absences. Dustin, radio mike and the others to tell them the plan and fill them in on everything else. Eddie and Steve, you two go get some rest and meet us at Eddie's trailer at sunset, that's when we'll strike. Everyone else get ready, we have a monster to take care of." Nancy ran down the plan to us, we all nodded and went our separate ways. I willed my wings and started to take off, when Steve stopped me. "Let me ride us home today, I just wanna test out my new, well new form." I smiled and put my wings away. I watched as Steve closed his eyes and grew in size, becoming a wolf once again. His bright yellow eyes signalling me to hop on, I did as I was told and he took off. Running fast through the woods.
