The walk back to the hotel was silent, but not in an awkward way. We were just worn out and were enjoying the local scenery. The cobblestone street we walked down earlier was lit up by the moonlight that stained the sky, but now, strings of white lights wrapped around numerous poles as far as the eyes could see lay ahead of us.
My arm was linked with Grace's as we journeyed down the path that would eventually lead to the hotel. On our way back, my mind never ceased thinking about Harry, which is no surprise. I didn't have a chance to respond to his text because I had argued with Elijah, so I was anxious to get back to the hotel and shoot him a text. I could've texted him while walking, but the scenery was so beautiful that I didn't want to miss out.
We soon arrived back at the hotel and said our goodnights to the boys as they stumbled tiredly into their hotel room while Grace and I continued to find our room. We traveled up to the second level and located our room right after we got off the elevator. She slid the card through the slot, and the door clicked, letting us in. I set my bag on the circular glass table and proceeded with my journey to the bathroom to rid my face of the minor but heavy makeup I had put on earlier.
I left the bathroom door open while I started to open up the bag of makeup remover wipes and saw Grace through the mirror, leaning against the door frame.
"What?" I asked due to her sudden presence, letting out a laugh.
"I'm honestly surprised you came back to our hotel room without Elijah's head on a spike," she said earnestly, making her opinion about the tense moment earlier known. She knew about how things were between us. I was surprised she was even batting an eye. I continued dabbing at my eyes to cleanse my face of the mascara and eyeshadow and proceeded to respond.
"It took a lot of restraint," I commented in a slightly serious tone while maintaining a joking manner. She let out an awkward laugh that spoke a thousand words, but the only ones that mattered were those that said, 'you were in the wrong.' I let out an exhausted sigh, removing the wipe from my eyes.
"Yeah, I know, but he can be so- AGH sometimes!" I exclaimed angrily, forcefully throwing my makeup remover wipe against the marble countertop, nearly missing the sink.
"I know, I know, but I will say that you could've stayed a bit calmer, but I would've had the same reaction you did, to be honest," she admitted, making me feel a tad better.
"Yeah, but I've just got a million thoughts swirling around my mind at once, and he has no idea how hard it is being a girl!" I yelled, picking up the wipe.
"Yeah, but hey, let's just focus on the positive: you have a boyfriend!" she giggled mischievously. I stopped what I was doing and turned my head; I let out a few stunned blinks at what she said.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, settle down there, sister. I just met him eight hours ago. We are nowhere near that title," I explained thoroughly, letting out a small laugh, and resumed taking off my makeup as I heard my phone ding, heart falling a bit as I saw that the notification wasn't from him. I had long forgotten that I was the one that hadn't texted back.
"I know, but he could be your first boyfriend!" She laughed, letting out a massive smile that made my eyes roll. I sighed, laughing.
"Yes, I know. The thought has crossed my mind once or twice," I admitted with a small smile. Out of nowhere, a shocked expression washed across her face, and I heard her gasp. I turned my eyes from my phone screen and looked at her, confused.
"Yo, Grace, you good?" I asked with a slightly concerned laugh. She took a deep breath before screaming at the top of her lungs: "TOM HOLLAND'S BROTHER GAVE YOU HIS INSTAGRAM. YOU'RE GOING TO MEET SPIDER-MAN!".
My confused expression was replaced by one of surprise, and my eyes went wide at her sudden burst of emotion as I covered my mouth in shock. Like flipping on a light switch, her eyes were the size of saucers in two seconds flat, and she covered her mouth in immediate panic as she realized that her scream let the entire hotel occupancy know of our exploits. We looked around as if making sure no one saw us do that, even though we both knew we were alone.
After about one minute of complete silence and no movement, we slowly removed our hands from our mouths and let out a small chuckle that turned into a large amount of giggling. We laughed so hard that we couldn't see straight until we fell on top of Grace's bed, letting out countless more laughs as the night grew longer.
