John B's POV
The next day everyone is in the house hanging out but I was out on my dock
Looking at the key when I see Sarah walk by me "hey"she says
"Hey."I look at her and get up and walk after her
We Walk to the end of my dock so we're in the shade
I lay my hand on the railing
"I'm sorry."she sniffles before sitting down with her knees to her chest
"I'm sorry you had to see that"I look down before sitting next to her
She took a deep breath"The way you looked..."
"You looked almost...glad"she says looking into the distance
"I..."
"I saw you"she looks at me
"Sarah he killed my dad."I tell her
She Sighs "I just think to much has happened."
"What does that mean?"I ask her
"I just thought of all people...you would understand...what it was like loosing a dad."she says twiddling her finger's
"And I needed you"she rest her chin on her knee
"I just think it's too complicated"
I shake my head "no,it's not. It's not too complicated"
"It is for me. I think I need to go"she stands up
"Sorry I shouldn't have come"she starts to walk away
"Hey. Sarah. Hey"I quickly follow
"No,no. Look. Hey it's okay"I hug her from behind she holds my arm crying
She pushes her hair back and pulls away to look at me
"Just talk to me. Please."I beg
"I'm sorry"she hands me the necklace
"I don't want it back."I tell her holding it
She places my hand on the side of her face kissing it softly
"Sometimes things just aren't meant to be"before walking away
I stand there and watch her heartbroken
I look down at the string necklace she made out of my dad's bandana I press my back to the railing
Sarah's POV
It's now nighttime I bike to topper's place
I get off it and dig in the fountain and grab a rock before throwing it at his bedroom balcony
The lights turn on and he comes out looking at me
"I'm so sorry can I stay again?"I ask
"Yeah, of course, of course I'll be right down"he says running
3rd person POV
Rafe touches his dad's watches looking at a picture of his dad before looking at his old shirts
Before grabbing a tux top he puts it on he looks at himself in the mirror
"It's totally cool seriously,you can stay as long as you need. Okay?"topper tells Sarah fixing the dock house for her
"Thank you. I just can't go home."she tells him weakly
"I can't imagine what you're going through"he says making the bed
She walks out to the balcony
"I just can't believe he's gone."she says almost in a whisper
"Look ward wasn't,you know, perfect by any means but, umm...you know,he was still your dad."
"I think it's probably hard to be just simple and happy now"topper stands Infront of her
She sighs and sniffles
"Nothing feel simple"she looks at him
"Um"he clicks his tongue
"I got school tomorrow,but--"
"Yeah,I'm sorry"she apologizes
"No,no,no. I was gonna say there's the bonfire afterwards if you want to go do you remember?"
"Oh, that's tomorrow?"
"That's tomorrow remember the bonfire the annual bonfire?"
"Yeah"
"We could,uh...take the Malibu couple mai tais, you know shot gun a few beers"
They both laugh
"Uh,I think it'd be good for you to just kinda get your mind off things if you're down"
"I'll think about it maybe"she tells him
"Okay cool we'll um, get some sleep and let me know if you need anything okay"he says walking backwards
"Yeah,I will good night"
