Chapter 5

***Mackenzie's POV***

The next hour was spent practicing soccer skills with all the little girls. Emily and I both happened to play so we tried to help them the best that we could. It was so fun watching their tiny legs try to shoot and pass the ball and even though their shots didn't even go near the goal Emily and I gave lots of encouraging advice!

"Ohhhhh so close!" Emily and I both yelled to little Courtney when she shot and missed the goal. I loved all the little girls but I think she was probably my favorite. The next little one was about to take her shot when I heard the awful cheers once again coming toward us.

"WE ARE THE MOOOSE, THE MIGHTY, MIGHTY MOOOSE!!!!" they screamed out trying to make us jealous.

They eventually got to us and stood with their arms crossed and their dirtiest game faces on.

***Emily's POV***

"So I guess its game time" I said to Harry.

"Prepare to lose, love." He coo'd back.

"You're going down!!" I yelled back to him.

We both walked away from each other and the rest of the teams followed. The Moose Cabin needed some time to warm up so Mackenzie and I got the girls huddled up.

"Ok girls its game time. Now, all we want you to do is pass the ball to each other." Mackenzie said trying to sound nice but you could tell she was dying to kick the boys butts.

"Okay ladies we will still love you if we lose but we will love you even more if we win!" I said with a sarcastic voice. We saw the boys stop practicing so we started out cheer.

"BUTTERFLIES ON 3, BUTTERFLIES ON 3, 1, 2, 3, BUTTERFLIES!!!!" We all screamed.

The starters took the pitch and lined up in formation. We were playing 5 vs. 5 so I was goalie, Mackenzie was playing forward, and then the rest of the girls were scattered across the field. One of Harry's friends was being the referee so the guys might have the advantage.

The boys just broke from their huddle. They seemed slow and pudgy. Easy. By the looks of there shots they weren't getting any in the back of the net. They took the field without a cheer (lame) and got in position. Harry was up at forward and Liam was goalie. They all had there game faces on except for Harry. He was just smiling at me. I flashed him a smile back.

The ref blew his whistle and the game was on! The moose cabin started with the ball. One of the the little boys got the ball and stared dribbling the ball. He came up at me and took a shot but I saved it. I threw the ball over to Courtney who started dribbling. She was actually pretty good for a 7 year old. She took a shot and Liam attempted to catch it but it went straight through his hands right into the back of the net!!

GOOOAAALLLLL!!!

We all screamed and engulfed each other with hugs. It was 1-0, butterflies!!

Again, the boys started with the ball. This time the ball got passed off to Harry. He faked out all of the girls and I was the last defender. He came up to me and chipped the ball over my head into the goal. He was running across the field doing the airplane. Now it's 1-1.

Some of the girls looked pretty upset. They pouted but once the game started their spirits were lifted instantly. They wanted to cream these boys.

The whistle blew to tell us is was half time. We all got water and sat on the bench. Mackenzie and I gave the girls a pep talk to cheer them up. We subbed in the ones who were on the bench and Mackenzie and I swapped places. Now she was in goal and I was forward.

We walked back on the field after our halftime cheer.

We all got into position and I looked to see who was playing where. Harry was in goal, Liam was forward, and all of the boys were scattered across the field either picking their noses, playing in the dirt, or both. Liam and Harry were ready in position and they were not about to lose to a bunch of girls.

It was our turn to start with the ball so I walked up to the center of the field with Courtney. She tapped the ball off the me and I took off. Liam came up to me and tried to take the ball away but I kicked the ball through his legs and them passed it to Courtney. She dodged little fat boys until she got into the 18 yard box. They boys formed a wall and there was no way that little Courtney would got through there. I opened up for Courtney and she passed it off to me. I got passed the wall and now it was one on one with Harry. He was on his line but I wouldn't take a shot. Now, he came out and tried to dive on the ball. At the last second I shot the ball and it went in the goal. It was now 2-1, Butterflies!! But when Harry dove to get the ball, he missed the ball and grabbed my feet instead. The next thing I know I'm on the ground on top of Harry.

"Lucky shot.'' He said to me

"It's not luck." I said with a smirk. "It's skill."

"You just wait. We are moose and we will come back and win." He said cockily.

"We'll see about that." I replied.

We both got up off the ground and put our game faces on. Liam took the ball and started with it. He dribbled through the girls but then he let out our center mid steal the ball. She passed it off to Courtney and she dribbled it through everyone. She came up to the goal and she shot it. It went into the bottom left corner, straight through Harry's hands. His face turned as red as a tomato. Everyone could tell that he was embarrassed. He brushed it off, grabbed the ball, and threw the ball up to Liam so he could start the game. Right as Liam was about to hit it, 3 whistles blew. GAME OVER!! Butterflies won 3-1 with a goal from Mackenzie, Emily, and Courtney.

I ran up to Harry and have him a I'm-sorry-you-lost-but-you-did-great hug.

He hugged me back and we said how great we both played then walked back to each others team.

***Mackenzie's POV.***

I was hugging all of the girls when Liam came walking up to me. I hugged him and told him he did a great job.

"Hey Harry and I were wondering if you and Emily wanted to go in a double date?" Liam said.

"Ya sure!! That sounds like fun!" I replied. "I'll go ask her."

I walked away from Liam and lead the girls back to the cabin to get washed up. I can't believe we won!
