Chapter 8

***Emily's POV***

Today is tryouts! Since Mackenzie and I aren't singing, Mackenzie and I made all of the girls that wanted a solo try out. A lot of them were not that great but then a little girl named Aubrey came up and blew us away! She was so good (for a 5 year old) she became our lead singer! We practiced for a long time everyday and the boys kept trying to listen to our rehearsal. We didn't want them to know what we were doing and they didn't want us to know what they were doing so it stayed that way.

(Night of the Talent Show)

***Mackenzie's POV.***

"Okay girls it's show time!" I said with excitement.

"Now lets go over the plan." Emily said.

We went over the song and dance routine and got all the girls dressed and ready.

"And next up is Cabin Butterfly!" The announcer said.

We walked out on the stage and saw all the other cabins. Everyone was dead silent as we walked along the huge stage. We all got into position and the girls started singing. The crowd was amazed by the talent of the little girls. Aubrey was behind the girls that were singing at the moment and her part was coming up soon. Emily was going to motion to Aubrey when it was her time to go. She did the motion to her and Aubrey didn't do anything. She did the motion again and nothing came out of Aubrey's mouth. She ran over to us in tears.

"I can't do it! There are way too many people out there!'' Aubrey sobbed.

The music stopped and the girls stopped singing.

"Aubrey it's ok!! Don't worry we can start over again. I'll walk out and with you if you want." Emily said.

"No I can't do it!" Aubrey yelled as she ran passed me.

She ran and hid somewhere. In the meantime, cabin leopard started their act. We all went to find Aubrey. After 10 minutes we found Aubrey back in the costume closet.

"Aubrey! We've been looking all over for you!! The crowd wants to hear us!'' I said.

"That's great but I really don't want to sing right now.'' Aubrey replied.

"What if Mackenzie and I sing with you?!" Emily said.

Aubrey thought about it for a second and finally said "Ok! I'll do it."

We all got ready again and got set up onstage. The girls got in position and the music started playing and the girls started singing. Our part was coming up soon and we were all holding hands. I could feel Aubrey's hand shaking from nervousness. Emily gave us the signal and we came out from behind the girls.

We all started singing Aubrey's part and after a couple seconds, Emily and I stopped singing. Aubrey was singing all by herself and the crowd was cheering rigorously for her. After the song was over everyone applauded wildly. We walked off the stage and we all automatically went into a group hug with Aubrey in the middle. We were so proud of her.

***Liam's POV.***

"And next up is the Moose Cabin!" Said the Announcer.

"Ok guys we aren't going to have all the drama that the girls did, right?" I said.

"Ya! No drama! No drama!'' They all screamed.

We walked out to the stage and got ready. The music started and we all started rapping.

"I'm a gangsta, I'm a straight up G the gangsta life is the life for me. Piano recitals by day, chess tournaments by night, my gardening tools are oh so right! I'm a gangsta I'm a straight up G the gangsta life is the life for me. Word." We all said in sync.

The crowd applauded with a lot of laughs. We all bowed and walked off the stage. We were the last cabin to go so they were going to announce the winner soon. As soon as we left the stage, the announcer came back on.

"The judges will be discussing the winner in private now. So sit tight and talk amongst yourselves in the meantime." He said.

I walked over to Harry who looked very pleased with our act. We had something very special planned that nobody new about. I grabbed Harry's arm and told him it was time to go. We backed away slowly from our group and slipped away.

***Emily's POV.***

Mackenzie and I were laughing hysterically at the boys act. That was the best rap I had ever heard! I went over to find them but they weren't there. I walked over to their cabin and asked the little boys if they had seen their cabin directors.

"No. We haven't seen them since we got off stage." One of them said.

I was starting to get a little worried. I told Mackenzie about it and she became worried too. We went out from backstage to see if ew could find them there but we couldn't see them. We walked back into the auditorium and noticed 2 people were up on the stage talking. I looked closer and it was Liam and Harry! They looked as if they were searching the crowd for someone. Harry and I made eye contact and he smiled. He walked over to Liam and pointed to us. They both got excited and got ready for something.

"This is for you Emily," Harry said.

"And Mackenzie.'' said Liam. Music started and Harry started singing. He was singing Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars. I love this song so much.

"Oh her eyes, her eyes, make the stars look like they're not shining. Her hair, her hair, falls perfectly without her trying. She's so beautiful, and I tell her everyday." He sang to me.

Now Liam started singing.

"Yeah, I know, I know, when I compliment her she won't believe me. And it's so, it's so, sad to thing that she don't see what I see, but everytime she asks me 'do I look ok?' I say,"

"When I see your face, theres not a thing that I would change because your amazing just the way you are. And when you smile, the whole world stops and stares for awhile cause your amazing just the way you are."

They sang in perfect harmony.

They sang the rest of the song and when they were finished, they both leaped off the stage and walked over towards me and Mackenzie. Harry came up to me and took my hand.

"That was beautiful. You really are an incredible singer!" I said while looking into those emrald green eyes.

"Thanks. And you're perfect just the way you are." He replied. I smiled and blushed. I leaned in and kissed him on the cheek and Mackenzie did the same to Liam. We all walked back stage together to hear the winner. As soon as we got back stage the announcer came on and said.

"Now the judges have made their final decision. And the winner of the Camp Wewa Cabin Talent Show is..."
