"What the hell is wrong with you?!" I heard a man say.

It took me a few minutes to regain my vision. I slowly looked up to see a tall man standing over me. He had the darkest eyes I'd ever seen, almost as dark as his hair and a scowl on his face. He was wearing an all black suit that fitted snugly around his arms, a gold watch resting on his wrist.

I quickly darted my eyes down when I realized I was staring and hadn't answered him yet. I noticed a long cut along my leg, then skin around it was inflamed.

"I-I'm so sorry. I can pay for any damages. It will take a while, but I promise I'll pay you back," I said as I slowly sat up.

"I just hit you, and you're worried about my car?" He questioned.

"It's a Boss 429, I would understand if you lost it right now," I said, immediately recognizing the car from one of my favorite action movies.

"Forget the damn car, are you alright!?" He asked in a panicked tone, looking me over for any injuries.

"I'm fine..." I said as I tried to stand up.

"Oww, Ow!" I plopped right back down after my leg gave out.

"Clearly," He said, looking down at me with an irritated look.

"You just hit me with your car, I don't think now's the time for jokes," I glared, or at least attempted to, trying to hold back a laugh.

"You jumped in front of my car," he said, clearly unamused.

"I didn't jump....I ran." I clarified.

"That's not any better?" He said with a pointed look.

"No... but there's a difference," I said as he rolled his eyes.

"Can you just take me home? It's the least you can do after hitting me with your nice car," I smiled.

"How do you know I'm not some serial killer?" He questioned.

"Plus, I've watched enough true crime to know a true serial killer wouldn't ask that."

"Trust me, it's usually the ones you don't expect to hurt you, that end up hurting you," He said.

Is he trying to tell me something?

"Should I be concerned....?" I questioned.

"Yes," He said with a straight face.

"Good to know...."

After he tried to convince me that I needed to go to the hospital and me trying to convince him I was fine, we made a compromise. We agreed that it was best for me to go to the hospital, and then he would take me home.

A low tune filled the car. I hummed along instantly, recognizing the song that's playing. I reached for the volume button, but he pushed my hand away.

"Dont touch my radio," He said with an irritated tone.

"I can't just sit like this," I said, gesturing to my injured leg. I needed something to fill the loud silence and take my mind off the pain shooting through my leg. I decided to reach for the window button, wanting some fresh air.

"Click," he put the child lock on before I could reach the window in time.

"Are you serious?" I shot him a glare. He continued to look ahead, and I huffed in defeat.

I laid against the headrest, closed my eyes, and listened to the loud silence that filled the car. I felt a nudge against my arm, and I slowly opened my eyes.

"Wake up," He said. I wasn't even asleep, I wish it was that easy for me.

I looked out the windows to find an empty road, no buildings or any signs of life in sight. I looked back to him in confusion.
