Chapter 22 - Kara Tells Lori

Lena is the first to wake up the following morning, and as she does, for a moment, she doesn't know where she is, because the surroundings are very unfamiliar to her, at least to wake up to. However, after a few moments, with the CEO blinking her eyes several times, she soon remembers that she is in Kara's bed, in the superhero's bedroom, along with both Kara and Lori. In this moment, everything that happened the previous night comes back to Lena, her date with Kara, the two of them making out on the boat, the two of them getting all hot and heavy in her penthouse, and the moment the two of them were interrupted by Nia calling them, letting them know Lori wanted Kara.

Lena turns her gaze in the direction of the two other figures in the bed, and that is when she sees Lori snuggled up all the way into Kara's chest, with the blonde holding Lori close to her, with a smile on her face, even though she is still sleeping. Lena can't help but smile at the sight, because Kara really is Lori's mom. Lena had her worries that maybe, deep down, Kara was only doing all this, fostering Lori, just to make her happy, but she can see now, without a shadow of a doubt, that Kara loves Lori, so much, and truly is her mother. Lena couldn't be happier about this, even if she had hoped that this wouldn't be the position she would be waking up in this morning. However, this is just as lovely way to wake up as the other way Lena had imagined. Lena just hopes that maybe they will get to do more of this in the future, as a family.

After Lena has the thought of them being a family, she quickly shoos it from her brain, because she knows she can't start thinking like that, as it would be far far too soon. Lena and Kara may be further along in their relationship that most couples, who have just had one date, because of their many years of deep friendship with one another, but they are still a new relationship. Lena doesn't want to get ahead of things, or set any sort of expectations on what will happen, for her own sake, and of course Lori's, who she very much already knows wants her and Kara to be together.

For the next 5 minutes, Lena simply lays in the bed, looking at Kara and Lori all snuggled up, with a big smile on her face. Lena absolutely loves this sight, and she doesn't think that she will ever be able to get enough of it. Lori and Kara are the two people who she loves most in the world, so to see them each loving one another like this, is incredible. Eventually though, Lena's bladder gets the better of her, so she quietly makes her way out of the bed, making sure not to move too quickly and wake either Kara or Lori up, and she then heads into the bathroom to relieve herself.

Once Lena exits the bathroom again, instead of getting back into bed with Kara and Lori, she decides to head out of the bedroom, and into the kitchen, planning to make them all a nice breakfast or something. Lena knows that Kara will certainly appreciate that, and probably Lori too. Lena is sure that Kara has probably already converted Lori into absolutely adoring food of any kind.

Lena makes her way into the kitchen, and then begins looking through Kara's cupboards and fridge, trying to see what she could make them all for breakfast. Lena knows that her options are probably either bacon and eggs, or pancakes. However, soon Lena sees that Kara doesn't actually have any bacon, so she settles on making pancakes for them all, which she is pretty sure are Kara's favourite anyway.

Lena goes about making a lot of pancake mix, enough to feed a hungry Kryptonian, as well as herself and a growing you girl. Just as Lena is stirring the pancake mix though, with her back turned to the hallway that leads towards the bedroom, she hears someone walking towards her.

"Oh darling. I really wanted to surprise you in bed, with a bunch of pancakes." Lena says.

Lena then hears a laugh that isn't one of Kara's, which causes her to turn around and notice it is Nia that has walked into the living room/kitchen area, not Kara.

"Nia!" Lena says, having completely forgotten that the dreaming superhero was here too.

Nia chuckles again.
