It is now a few hours later, close to 6PM, and Kara, Lena, Lori, Eliza, Kelly, Esme and Alex have all just arrived at the Midvale Christmas fair. The fair itself is not massive, like some are in cities across the world like London, New York, and other places, but it is still a pretty decent size considering the population of Midvale. Although, Eliza has told everyone that one of the reasons that the fair in Midvale is a reasonable size is because people will come to Midvale, from all the other small towns around Midvale, just for the Christmas fair, as Midvale is the most populated town in this area of the country. So, right now the fair itself has several game stalls set up, where people can play to win various prizes, including all sorts of traditional games, such as ring throwing around bottles, knocking towers over with a ball, and squirting a water gun into a hole to race other contestants. Also, there are several food trucks set up in one area which offer a large range of food, from the more traditional 'Christmas food' like slices of roast turkey, and mini sausages wrapped in bacon, to more normal foods like pizza and burgers. Then, of course, there are also a few food trucks that offer a large range of desserts. Needless to say, the food trucks have always been Kara's favourite part of the Midvale Christmas fair.

"Wow! It's pretty!" Lori says, as the walk inside the fair.

Lori and Esme are actually walking next to each other, holding hands, in front of the adults.

"Yeah, it is." Esme nods, with a smile, "There's so many lights!"

"I'm glad you both like it." Eliza says, as she smiles down at her two granddaughters.

"Mommy, what is there to do here?" Lori asks, as she turns to look at Kara.

"So, as you can see, there are some food trucks, and stalls where you can play games to win prizes. Then on top of that, there is an ice-skating rink, and various other rides, like a roller coaster, a fairest wheel, bumper cars, and some other things." Kara explains.

"Cool!" Lori says, excitedly.

"Can we go ice-skating now?" Esme asks, cutely, as she looks at all of the adults.

"Uhhh....." Alex stammers, as she bites her lip awkwardly.

Kara chuckles at Alex's awkwardness.

"What is it?" Kelly asks, "It seems we are missing something."

Eliza now chuckles.

"That is because Alex here has never been able to manage to learn how to properly ice skate." Eliza says, with a loving smile.

"Or skate for more than 2 seconds without falling over." Kara adds, with a smirk.

"That's an over exaggeration!" Alex pouts.

"Okay. 10 seconds." Kara replies, with another smirk.

Kelly and Lena both chuckle at the banter between Alex and Kara.

"What about you, Kara?" Lena asks, "Are you any good at ice-skating?"

"Uhhh.... I'm not great or anything. I still fall over and stuff." Kara admits, "But I think I took to it a lot better than Alex simply because I don't have a fear of falling over and hurting myself or anything."

"Hmmm. That does sound like an advantage." Kelly nods.

"So, can we go ice-skating?" Lori now asks, getting the conversation back to the question at hand.

The adults all then look at one another.

"Well, I'm not sure about anyone else, but I'd happily take you both ice-skating." Lena says, "Ice-skating was actually one of the activities I was pretty good at at boarding school, and when I wasn't there, it was one of the physical sporting activities that my mother let me do."
