This is the first LGBTQ story I've ever written. I first came up with the idea when I was fifteen and wrote a very rough draft of it. I edited the idea and wrote it completely in my early twenties, but again, it's not a version that I can be proud of.
This version is the fourth rewrite. Improved further from the version that I had here on Wattpad some months back. I highly appreciate all the feedback you are ready to give! It would please me to hear your thoughts or have constructive criticism on things I can improve still.
This story handles the very sensitive subject of sexual abuse, but I assure you that it's not glorifying it by any means! It portrays the emotional and psychological effects it has on the victim. The main character is seventeen at the beginning of the story and it covers around six years of his life. The difficult scenes will be non-graphic but mentioned and then blurred out.
Here's the full list of triggering subjects this book deals with; kidnap, rape, forced prostitution, verbal and physical abuse, suicide, murder, homophobic comments, and drug use.
More than anything, this is a book about survival, rebuilding life, and a book about love stronger than darkness.
Thank you for reading! ❤️
