Third person.
So what exactly happened with Yunmi and Minseong?
Yunmi was on the rooftop all this time, chilling out in the windy cool air, making it hard for her to keep her hair in place. She could mostly see buildings and billboards and tiny cars driving on the road from her perspective. But she wasn't looking at them, the sky was much better to look at.
There's something about staring at the clouds moving gradually and changing in forms that fascinate her sometimes, despite how silly it may sound.
She also likes how clouds could portray different things, based on a person's imagination. She stared at one cloud, squinting her eyes to think of what it looked like. A heart, hit by an arrow, preferably a cupid's arrow.
Cupids don't exist, known for a fact. But Yunmi wonders, that if it were real, would it have arrowed her and Nishimura... to each other? Something might have happened which made them become frenemies rather than becoming lovers instead. Or what if this is all part of cupid's plan to bring them together, for them to end up loving each other eventually?
'Wow, that sounded absurd.' Yunmi snickered at herself. And this is why you shouldn't let yourself get drowned in your thoughts because it just won't make sense.
Oh, and, screw Nishimura Riki anyway. Making Yunmi fall for him only to ignore her afterward? Who does he think he is?
"I'm not supposed to like him! What happened to the vow I made of despising Nishimura forever when he stepped on my brand new white shoes a year ago?" Yunmi wept. Talking to herself is a crazy habit.
"Yunmi?" The door of the rooftop opened, and the first person Yunmi hoped would come in was Ni-ki, but it wasn't him.
"Minseong?" Yunmi mumbled, hiding the disappointment in her voice.
"I found you at last." He said breathlessly.
"What, what are you doing here?" Yunmi asked, chuckling.
"I looked for you everywhere, and I must say our school is huge. I also have to tell you something, it's important." Minseong replied. Yunmi nodded subtly and got up from sitting on the floor, dusting off the back of her skirt.
"What is it?" Yunmi asked. Minseong gave a wary chuckle, rubbing his nose before speaking.
"Listen, uh, I don't know how to address this, and I don't know if this is the right time to be saying this. But, I decided to take the risk and do it right now." He blabbed. It weirded Yunmi out, and he wasn't even looking at her directly, which also concerned her.
"You don't have to say it now if you can't, Minseong. It's okay." Yunmi assured, shortly smiling. Minseong shook his head, saying that he was fine, and sharply exhaled.
"I like you, Yunmi."
Pause. What now?
"I've liked you for five months already. I thought that admiring you secretly behind during class would be enough for me but when I decided to shoot my shot after that amazing dance project you did, I liked you even more." Minseong added on, completely confessing to Yunmi, who stood in front of him frozen as she listen.
"These past few days whenever we're together, I realized how you really are an amazing person, Yunmi. You're always so kind and sweet toward me, and I'm not assuming or anything, but maybe, you- you feel the same way as I do?" His voice was shaking, trying to smile but Yunmi know how nervous he was feeling. She wanted to say something back, but she has no idea how to answer his last question.
No other words were spoken for a minute. As Minseong finally met her eyes, Yunmi slowly shook her head with a remorseful smile. And by that, Minseong understood, he nodded his head.
"I don't. I'm so sorry." Yunmi replied. She didn't say anything else, afraid she might hurt him more if she did.
"I know, and it's alright. I kind of expected it." Minseong attempted to laugh, but it didn't come off genuinely.
Yunmi was sorry. It's not every day that she gets confessions and finds out that someone liked her for a long time. Having to reject them made her feel worse. It's harder than rejecting a boy in middle school.
Perhaps a simple hug would do to make it up to him. Yunmi gestured for a hug, but it wasn't comforting as she wished it would be.
"You're a great friend, Minseong." Yunmi whispered.
"I hope my confession doesn't ruin our friendship." Minseong said back.
"Course not! Moving on from a person like me won't be tough." Yunmi grinned, causing to Minseong hum with a soft laugh.
"I hope you work out with the person you like as well. Nishimura Riki?"
"Than- huh?" Yunmi broke the hug and gave him a confused look.
"I was there on the falling incident. Made me jealous at first, to be honest. Though, now that I think about it, the whole scene was funny and adorable for you two." Minseong laughed.
"Hello? I was trying to forget that!" Yunmi whined. They shared laughs afterward.
"Both of you are obvious and oblivious at the same time. If I were another person, I'd be frustrated at the two of you." Minseong said jokingly.
"You're the first to know about it, okay? Keep your mouth shut." Yunmi confided. Minseong scoffed and nodded.
Ni-ki did misinterpret the hug, after all, he heard not one single thing of what they talked about. Yet he was still fully convinced Yunmi and him are together.
Foolish Nishimura and Choi. Little did they know...
