Imagine you are going to marry a lord, but you love Thorin. Set 100 years before the reclaming of Erebor, enjoy!

Sun shone through my curtains, declaring that the day has begun. I have just come from my hunting trip. Taking first steps into the town of men, I felt my chest being squeezed by some kind of feeling. By a feeling of sadness.

Since the fall of Erebor and the loss of my mother, me and my father Ankar, have never been the same. Everytime he looked at me, I saw sadness and a bit of anger in his eyes. I knew he blamed Smaug for losing my mother and our home, but he didn't love me any less than before. In the first years after the fall of Erebor, he worked as a blacksmith in the various cities of men: Gondor, Rohan etc. But now we lives in the Blue Mountains, in Ered Luin.

As for me, after losing my mother, I became distant and cold towards people I didn't know, but I still cared about my friends and family. Particularly about Thorin. Thorin, my childhood sweetheart. I still remember, how we used to chase one another around the halls and make pranks on high lords. But it was then, now it's all completely different. I haven't seen him for many decades. After the Battle of Azanulbizar, he started avoiding me, probably because he was still grieving for his father, grandfather and brother. Balin, one mine and Thorin's friends, told me that Thorin is working as a blacksmith here in this town, to make money for buying food and necessities.

I walk along the street, looking around for him, for that black mane of hair and those ocean blue eyes. Suddenly, I hear someone shouting.

"You, dwarf! I told you that those blades should have been ready for today! What did I pay you for?"

There came only a gruff response 'I know'. "I will not let injustice to be done!" I quietly swear.

"Maybe I should talk to your employer, I bet he could help me." the man sneers. The dwarf seems unfazed by itand continues his work as if he didn't hear him. That's when I decide to step in.

"Maybe you can go away and leave him alone!" I say while crossing my arms. They both turn to look at me and I hear the dwarf calling my name '[Y/N]'. I look over the man's shoulder and my eyes widen. It is Thorin, my love.

"And who are you?" the man asks. I mentally roll my eyes.

"Someone, whom you should be afraid of." I reply. My hands unnoticebly reach for the daggers behind my back, incase the man will attack me.

"Oh really? I should be afraid of dwarves? Now that's ridiculous!" laughs the man. 'Thorin, knock him out, now!' I sign in Iglishmek, dwarven sign language. He gives me a nod and whistles. The man turns around and Thorin punches him in the face, effectively knocking him out.

"Good punch." I say.

"Yes, it was. He came to me yesterday and demanded from me, that I should make him new blades. He is just as annoying as those human lords." he shakes his head, putting the calipers away.

"The last time I met such man, was five years ago, in Gondor."

He turns to look at me "Why did you come here [Y/N]?"

"Well, I was on a hunting trip last week and came here to sell the pelts. And......I was also looking for you Thorin."

A suprised look crosses his face. I feel myself becoming nervous, like some little shy girl. If only he would embrace me again.

"Looking for me? Why?"

"We haven't really talked to each other since the battle. For all those years, I kept thinking you ceased to love me. Whenever I tried to talk to you, you gave me a cold shoulder. Before I went on my trip, I met Balin and asked him, where I could find you and he told me you were here."

"I'm sorry azyungal, but back then I was grieving, and I still do. I never stopped loving you, I just couldn't focus myself on maintaining our relationship. But if you would let me, maybe we could start again. What do you say?"

My heart pumps very fast after hearing those words. He wants to continue courting me. I just can't believe it!

"I-I.....yes, I do want to be with you again. You don't know, how much I missed you. Men lananubukhs menu, Thorin." I say softly as he emraces me.

"Men lananubukhs menu, [Y/N]"

We stay like that for five minutes.

"Now, I believe we should take care of him."

"Oh yes we do. Guards!"

I just clap my hands people *disbelieving nod*, my head is just so full of those ideas and I don't know, when they will end. I hope you enjoyed it guys, vote and comment,

Yours ThoraOakenshield
