The Hobbit Imagines: Volume I (DISCONTINUED)

Thorin - My wish is....

So hey guys, I know I didn't write for about two weeks, but don't blame me, blame school. This imagine I devote to all fans of Thorin and The Hunger Games. Enjoy!

It was another warm evening on the journey. First few hours of riding were boring, because almost no-one was talking, only Kili and Fili whispering amongst themselves.

When Thorin ordered for the Company to stop and make a camp, you felt relieved. "[Y/N], go and gather some wood for the fire." said Thorin not even looking your way. You just huffed "Whatever."and went deeper into the forest.

As you were gathering some wood, you started reflecting on the journey. So far it went quite uneventful, because you didn't encounter any orcs or other evil creatures. But this night was still beautiful as stars were shining brightly in the sky. You thought about your life back on Earth. Yes, you came to Middle-Earth, when you argued with your best friend three weeks prior about your most desired wishes. Your wish was to see Middle-Earth with your own eyes and it came true.

You thought about Thorin again. When you first read the book, you didn't pay much attention to him, but when you saw him in the movie, you fell for him, not the actor.

At the beginning of the journey, he was cold and harsh towards you, because he thought that you were a weak girl, who couldn't even wield a knife, if she wanted to. And you wanted to prove him wrong by not complaining every time and trying to be tough. At first the dwarves only laughed at you saying that what you were trying to do was silly and hilarious. But when you yelled at them all for being such jerks, they all shut up. Of course the next day they apologized and you forgave them.

You wanted to calm yourself a bit, so you started to softly sing a lullaby you heard from 'The Hunger Games'.

Deep in the meadow, under the willow

A bed of grass, a soft green pillow

Lay down your head, and close your sleepy eyes

And when again they open, the sun will rise.

You closed your eyes and let your voice be a bit louder, but not that loud for the Company to hear. A few metres away stood Thorin, watching you intently with his ocean blue eyes. You didn't know that he developed some warm feelings towards you, but of course he didn't yet want to admit to himself that it was love.

Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true

Here is the place where I love you.

He thought that your voice was enchanting. It was soft and calming. He knew he was harsh and cold when he was around you, but it was all a facade, he didn't want you to know about his feelings, not yet anyway. So he just continued listening to you singing.

Deep in the meadow, hidden far away

And when again it's morning, they'll wash away.

Thorin joined you in the last few verses. You stood there shocked, but continued singing. You didn't want to ruin the moment.

"[Y/N], you sing beautifully." said Thorin while walking in your direction. As embarrased as you felt yourself, you blushed and mumbled a 'Thank you' in turn.

There was an awkward silence between you two for at least five minutes before you spoke again "You know Thorin, when I wished to come to Middle-Earth, I didn't know it would turn out like that. My wish was of course was to be here, to visit the places I only read about in a book, but I didn't expect to go on a journey with you all." as you said it, you went to sit on a tree stump, the wood you were carrying before all but forgotten.

"I want you to cherish those memories you are getting of our journey, because if you...." he looked as if thought he was about to choke "return back to Earth, you will have stories to share with your friends, family, even children." You were touched by his words, you wanted him to know how much you love him, but you were quite scared and uncertain about that his feelings would be the same towards you. "I-I thank you Thorin." you told him softly "I believe that we will prevail in our quest,we still have chance to reclaim your home." determenance clearly sounding in your voice.

He looked at you surprised but then gave you a small smile of appreciation. He was about to say something, when you gathered yourself and placed a small kiss upon his cheek. You went back to camp not knowing that Thorin was blushing and smiling softly thinking about you.
