This is an imagine for bluemoonwolfwarrior. I hope you like it!
"So Kili, are you going to tell us whom your heart holds dear most?" I ask him. He only hums in response.
We've been playing Truth or Dare for three hours straight, while Thorin and Fili were hunting and we still don't want to end it. For me it wasn't so hard to answer the questions The Company asked from me, even the somewhat perverted ones. As it was Kili's turn, he chose the Truth. The only thing he wasn't expecting, was that Bofur would be asking that-in my opinion-stupid question. I was brought out of my thoughts, when Kili started speaking again.
"Hmm, I can't say that I don't love her. I mean I do hold her dear, but I don't think she loves me." he says with a sad expression on his face.
"And why's that?" Gloin asks.
"Because whenever she looks at me, she has that cold hard look and I can't help but think that she hates me, but I don't know what for."
I knew that he was speaking of me. No, I didn't hate him, I just didn't want to put him in danger, especially while we were on a dangerous quest. 'There's no place for love on dangerous journeys' my father once said, ignoring the fact that he met my mother while he was on one. I cherished every moment I had with Kili, whether it be talking to him or laying next to him. After the trolls episode, I confessed my love for him to his brother. Fili said that I was like a sister to him and swept me up in a tight bear hug. I pleaded to him not to say anything to Kili. I was actually glad that he understood me.
"Come on, tell us who she is?" cried Dwalin. At that moment Kili looked at me. Suddenly The Company started laughing and Kili's embarrased gaze turned to the ground. I couldn't help but let a giggle escape my lips.
"I knew that! I knew it was her! Pay up Nori!" shouted Bofur. I saw Nori reluctantly throwing a coin pouch towards him. Actually everyone threw a pouch to one another. I groaned at this and so did Kili. I sighed and stood up, taking a few steps towards Kili. He glanced up and when he saw me, he turned his head down again.
"Hey, those beautiful eyes should be looking at me, not the ground." I placed my fingers under his chin and lifted his head.
"You hate me right? I knew you hated me." those words were cutting me like a knife would cut butter.
"No Kili, I don't hate you and I never did. What made you think that I hated you?"
"It's just that you always looked at me, as if I somehow dissappointed you. You never once smiled at me and I feared my feelings would be unrequited."
"Kili, I don't hate you! I looked at you like that, because I didn't want to put you in danger by admitting my feelings to you. You should know that there's no place for love on dangerous quests. It will only be distracting you from important matters at hand. We will only put others to danger." I finish my rant.
He was about to open his mouth in protest, when I silence him with a kiss. Our lips were moving in sync and I felt as if the fireworks were exploding around us. We heard a loud cough and jumped away from each other.
"Can you not do this in front of us, please?!" said Nori from his spot. Bombur, Bofur, Ori and Gloin looked at him angrily and he immediately shut his mouth.
"Well, I guess it's the start of your courtship. You have to braid eachother's hair though." said Balin, who was very silent until that moment. Kili and I shared a look, before nodding at Balin.
We stood up and went further into the woods, so that no-one would see us. Kili found a beautiful clearing, upon which moon was shining. He offered me a place to sit and sat behind me. Once he finished braiding my hair, I started doing the same thing for him.
"So lady [Y/N], I think it's a quite wonderful start of our courtship." he mischievously states.
"Oh yes, indeed it is, and I plan to follow it through." I smile at him.
That couldn't have gone any harder.
I'm a SO SORRY for not writing for so long. It's just that I was away and couldn't write anything, because I left my computer at home and writing in phone isn't as easy as it seems to be, but I hope you liked this imagine. Comment and vote,
