Wattpad writers often tend to simplify their writing by stating instead of describing. I will include an example below.

1. He was angry.
2. His eyes twitched in fury, their pupils turning into thin slits. He clenched his jaw and closed his hand into a fist.

The first sentence is plain and uninteresting, whilst the second one provides imagery for the reader, and is more entertaining to read.

However, one must remember not to overdo it. Sometimes, it is better to simply state. For example, the first option would be better to include in a fight scene, where the action happens fast and the reader doesn't want to know about all the little details that show the character is angry.

All in all, it is a question of balance. Not describing at all is too bland, whilst describing too much is tiring.
