"Finally, those commissions took much longer than they normally do!" Y/N commented, tying up the last of the treasure hoarders.
"Untie me bitch! I'll make you regret ever coming near us!" One of the mages growled furiously. Crouching down, she grinned at the man, who's face was slowly turning red with anger.
"I don't really feel like untying you, sorry, not after these wounds you oh so kindly gave me."
Unfortunately, she had recived quite a few nasty gashes, including a deep one on her dominant fore arm, which throbbed every time she would move the limb. Nothing she wasn't used to though, Y/N would patch herself up once she returned home.
"Thank you for finishing your daily commissions! Please take this." Katheryn said brightly, handing Y/N a pouch full of mora. "Thanks Katheryn." Y/N replied gratefully. The woman behind the counter gave the girl a once over, furrowing her brows worriedly.
"I hope those cuts aren't too deep Y/N, do you have enough supplies to bandage yourself up?"
Y/N grinned, "Yep! I have plenty of things at home. I just ran into a bit of trouble with one of the groups of treasure hoarders, nothing I couldn't handle though!"
Katheryne chuckled, "Maybe take a day off Y/N, you're always helping everyone else and going off on commissions, you'll burn yourself out if you're not careful." The girl sighed, "I'll be fine, don't worry about me. Besides I need the mora, what harm is doing a few commissions if I get paid for it?"
Katheryn looked at her for a moment before giving in.
"Whatever you say Y/N."
Y/N smiled, "I should probably be getting home now! See you tomorrow, have a great evening!"
With that, she was off.
"Poor girl." Katheryne mumbled under her breath, shaking her head. She was well aware of Y/N's situation but there wasn't much she could do for her.
Y/N opened the door to the restraunt, which was empty, as usual. Despite the vacant seats, all the tables were set neatly, as if customers were on their way. She could hear voices coming from the apartment above, so she began to ascend the stairs.
"I'm sorry, the Fatui don't make exceptions for anyone. If you cannot repay your debt with mora, then you will pay for it with your lives."
Y/N's heart sank at the sound of the deep unfamiliar voice.
'What business do the Fatui have with my parents? Did he say debt?' The girl thought to herself.
She heard her mother let out a sob, "Please Tartaglia, sir, don't do this."
"You knew what the consequences were when you took out your loans. This is how it has to be."
"Now hold on a minute, my wif-"
"What the fuck is happening in here?"
All heads turned to Y/N's direction as she slammed the door open. She took in what was going on, her mother was on her knees sobbing, her father was crouched next to her on the ground. Then the girls attention was drawn to a man who was standing at about six foot tall. A fatui mask was covering his face but his vibrant ginger hair was very visible.
"Go, run darling, please." Y/N's mother begged, looking up at her daughter from her spot on the floor. She quickly rushed over to her parents, "Dad why did he say he was here to collect your debt?"
Her father sighed and put a hand on his daughters head, in a feeble attempt to comfort the clearly distraught girl.
"Please understand, we had to take out a loan to pay for the rent. It increased three months ago and we weren't making anywhere near enough mora to pay it, even with all the money you earned from commissions, so we went to the Northland Bank."
