Y/N was travelling for about half an hour before she heard voices.
"Why did master Tartaglia move us here?" She heard someone say in a confused tone.
"I have no clue, there's nothing to guard, or anyone to fight. None of the millelith are anywhere either, which is odd."
"Yeah, you'd think that they'd put someone in charge of protecting the Golden House, all of Liyue's mora is minted there."
Y/N listened to the banter for another few minutes, before deciding to finally make her move. She jumped down from the ledge she was hiding on and blew one of the Fatui agents to the side, she grabbed the other one and held one of her daggers against his throat. For a moment the man struggled but once he became aware that he was about an inch away from a slit throat, he ceased all movement.
"Where is Tartaglia?" She asked, pushing the knife closer to the agents neck, drawing just enough blood to scare the man. "I can't tell you, either way I'd end up dead, my partner will make quick work of you and then we'll both be dead." Y/N raised her eyebrows, "What do you mean 'either way you'd end up dead'?" The man scoffed, "How naïve are you? Any man or woman who betrays the Fatui will be killed with no mercy, then their families are killed too. I won't tell you anything."
The girl sighed in annoyance, 'How am I meant to get them to talk?'
Y/N was fully aware that the second Fatui agent was sneaking up to her, she needed to do something, and quick.
All of a sudden she had an idea.
Y/N pulled out her second dagger and gently hit the agent in the back of his neck, while cutting his throat with the first dagger. That way he was effectively knocked out, but it looked like she had killed him. The cut she made in his neck was nowhere near deep enough to actually kill him, she just hoped that the other agent wouldn't notice that.
"You're dead you bitch!"
She spun around just in time to deflect an attack from the agent.
Y/N felt better than she ever had, the week of rest was the first she'd had in years and her body was rearing to go. She pulled the agent towards her using her vision, then kicked his sword away from his body, before sending him flying backwards, crashing into the side of the mountain.
She heard the man groaned in pain, then she advanced towards him while he was still down.
"Tell me where Tartaglia is, or I'll kill you too." The girl said in her most threatening voice.
The agent at her feet growled, "I wouldn't tell you even if I knew, he doesn't tell us where he is, ever. He told us to watch out for a girl with an Anemo vision, you're the girl I'm assuming. If you plan on fighting master Tartaglia then be prepared to die, you are nowhere near his level."
Gritting her teeth, Y/N gave the man a death glare, "I won't die until I make him pay for what he did, after I do that I can happily pass away."
The man was silent for a moment, then he opened his mouth, and spat at Y/N.
The girl stumbled back in shock, desperately trying to wipe the spit from her eyes. She yelped in pain at a burning feeling in her thigh. In a state of panic, she did the only thing she could think of.
The wind around the man began to pick up, circling around him, he yelled when his feet were suddenly lifted off the ground by the force of the breeze. Y/N opened her eyes just in time to see him smashing off the side of the mountain for the second time that day. Her eyes widened in fear and she rushed over to him as fast as she could, ignoring the pain in her leg.
Pressing two fingers to his neck, she let out a sigh of relief, he still had a pulse.
Looking down at her leg the girl narrowed her eyes, he had shoved about an inch of a dagger into her thigh.
"Fucking prick, I wish I had killed you." She muttered under her breath, then she bit down on the material of her shirt and pulled it out. Upon closer inspection, she deducted that the wound wasn't even that bad.
Walking wasn't that bad either. For a moment she didn't know what to do. Both of the agents were unconscious and she hadn't the faintest idea of where Tartaglia was.
'Think Y/N, come on.'
Then she remembered what the agents said, 'None of the millelith are anywhere either, which is odd.'
Y/N decided to go and check on the premises of the Golden House. Anyone who grew up in Liyue knew that the Golden house was always swarming with guards, it sounded fishy to her that there was none all of a sudden.
Sure enough, there was no guards anywhere in sight, which Y/N found very odd, until she reached the Golden House. Her mouth formed an 'o' shape as she looked at the many bodies of millelith that were piled in the court yard of the Golden House. For the second time that evening, Y/N ran towards a random man, pressing her fingers against his neck.
'Archons, there's a pulse.' She thought to herself.
Once she had checked a few more bodies, the worry in her began to subside. Every guard she checked was knocked out cold, but not dead. Y/N was no fool. It didn't exactly take a genius to work out that someone had infiltrated the Golden House, and judging by the fact that the Millelith were still out cold, there was a very high chance that the intruder was still inside.
Y/N made her way to the entrance of the Golden House, everything was still. She could hear the water a couple of meters from her trickling, birds were chirping and the wind was soothing. Funny how nobody ever notices those small little details until they venture out into the wild by themselves.
That was why Y/N found it unsettling, for so many bodies to be around and for it to still be so quiet.
Y/N opened the door and held out her daggers, alert and ready to fight. She had never been inside the Golden House, her E/C eyes widened at the amount of mora just piled in the pits in the ground, no wonder it was called the 'Golden House'. Y/N would have always thought that the mora would have been stored in a vault of some sort, not just left out in the open.
She walked down a flight of stairs and froze.
"Hey there Girlie."
