Y/N stomped down the stairs of the inn she was staying in. Her hopes of a so called 'break' were ruined by the red head that had somehow weaseled his way into her life yet again.
"Leaving already Miss? You're still paid up for another week." The innkeeper asked curiously, taking note of the bag the girl had in hand.
"Yeah, I've decided I need a change in scenery. The stay was lovely thank you so much. You needn't worry about refunding the rest of the days, it's all ok. Thank you."
The innkeeper's mouth was wide open in shock, he knew who Y/N was, how could he not? He was already baffled when she wandered into his inn a couple of days ago, but now she said her stay was lovely? A bright smile replaced the mans gaping mouth, then he went about his day.
Y/N on the other hand wore something far different from a smile. Instead, a deep scowl was on her face as she walked down the street.
"𝑻𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒎𝒆. 𝑻𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒎𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒇𝒆𝒍𝒕 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈."
The girl scoffed, who the fuck did he think he was?
"𝑰 𝒇𝒆𝒍𝒕 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈. 𝑰 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝑰 𝒉𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒉𝒊𝒎."
"𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒘𝒉𝒚 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝑰 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒌𝒊𝒔𝒔 𝒎𝒆? 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒊𝒕 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍 𝒔𝒐....𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕?"
Y/N was pulled out of her thoughts when she bumped into something hard. She winced and looked up, an apology on the tip of her tongue. Her E/C eyes widened when they met teal blue ones. The boy in front of her cocked his head to the left and broke out into a broad grin.
"Fancy seeing you here Y/N." He began playfully.
Y/N felt her heart quicken just at the sight of him and she giggled, "Hi Kaeya, long time no see." She joked, knowing they had seen each other two days prior. A charming smirk appeared on the Cavalry Captains and he lifted a hand up to his forehead dramatically, "Any time I'm not around my beautiful Y/N, time seems to go by agonizingly slow."
Y/N's cheeks now had a pink hue and she was laughing at Kaeya.
"So, what are you up to this morning prince charming?" She teased, taking note of the faint blush the captain was now sporting.
"Just taking my morning walk. Say Y/N....where are you going with all those bags? You're not leaving Mondstadt already are you?" Kaeya asked in a panic stricken tone. Y/N smiled softly at this reaction, "No, I'm not leaving yet don't worry. I just ran into.....a spot of bother at the place I was staying in, so I need to find somewhere new."
"Well Y/N, you could always come and stay with me! I have two spare rooms, it'd be no hassle at all."
For a moment Y/N pondered over the cavalry captains offer. Her mind wandered to Tartaglia. He wouldn't bother her if she was staying somewhere out of his reach, and besides, Y/N was well aware that she was beginning to catch feelings for Kaeya. Maybe staying with him would make her forget whatever the fuck she was feeling for Tartaglia.
"Are you sure it wouldn't be a bother Kaeya? I can also help pay ren-"
"You'll do no such thing. I'm inviting you to stay with me, I don't want anything in return."
Y/N grinned at the man bashfully, "If you're sure... then I guess I'd be happy to take you up on your offer. Thank you so much Kaeya."
Kaeya's face broke into a boyish grin, "Looking forward to getting to know you better Miss L/N." He said, motioning for Y/N to follow him. The two made idle chit chat, conversing about anything and everything on the way to the cavalry captains place. They both found themselves laughing and grinning quite a lot, but Y/N couldn't help but feel like something was missing. Archons knows what it was!
"Here we are!" Kaeya stated, stopping in front of a magnificent looking house. It blended in with the normal, red roofed houses of Mondstatd, it was just twice the size of a normal house.
He laughed when he saw Y/N's gaping mouth.
"I'll give you a tour, just so you won't get lost." He joked. Y/N rolled her eyes and smiled, "Lead the way."

"I might just permanently move in." Y/N giggled once Kaeya had finished giving her the tour.
"I wouldn't complain." He smirked slyly. Immediately a blush appeared on Y/N's cheeks.
"𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘤𝘶𝘵𝘦"
"So Y/N, was that brute that so rudely stole you away from me the other night the Eleventh Harbinger?"
The cavalry captain was no fool. He knew there was something going on between Y/N and the Harbinger. Harbingers were known for being ruthless and merciless, but, even in his drunken state, Kaeya had seen how the other mans eyes softened when they were on Y/N. She had aimed a kick at his balls, although she missed, if it were anyone else the Harbinger would have probably killed them. Which meant that Y/N meant something to the Eleventh Harbinger. A smug smiled made its way onto Kaeya's face, as he realized that he now had what the Harbinger wanted.
"Yes, that would be him." Y/N bit her lip, her mind wandering back to this morning. She kept trying to forget what he had said.
"𝑻𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒎𝒆. 𝑻𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒎𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒇𝒆𝒍𝒕 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈."
As much as she kept trying to tell herself she felt nothing, deep down Y/N knew there was something there, but it was wrong. It was so wrong and she wouldn't let it happen.
Maybe Kaeya would help her forget.
