Location: New York, United States of America

The aftermath of Tanik's invasion was a bloody but victorious one, the only casualties were a lot of soldiers and some unfortunate civilians who were shot dead by the Fallen. Some were eaten alive and others brutally had their head chopped off or crushed by the weight of many Fallen captains during the invasion. Thankfully, the people who were hiding in the evacuation shelters did not perish during the invasion. While Jasper and Isaac are killing the remaining Fallens, the soldiers and Kansens lift many heavy debris from the shattered buildings that Taniks destroyed. Thanks to Jamie and Ralph's ability to scan for human life, both the soldier and Kansens were able to rescue those who were trapped under the rubble in a short time. During all of this, Jasper and Isaac finish up killing the last remaining Fallen while surveying the ruined streets of New York. Isaac suggested that Jasper should let the girls rest for two days before going back to the base. Jasper disagreed as he wanted to get the girls out of New York Harbor as soon as possible. Both argued back and forth for about 5 minutes. Reluctantly, Isaac finally agreed. Then after finishing up more work, everything is finally over. The Guardians and Kansens were escorted to the Harbor by the soldiers through their jeeps. They all step out of the jeep and see Sergeant Thomas along with the Patrol Guard saluting before them.

"Jasper," Isaac says as they continue to walk.

"Hm?"

"Are you sure, you don't need rest? I mean the girls are also tired, so why can't you stay for two days?" Isaac said.

"Because we still have the Sirens to worry about. Don't worry, they can rest on the ship. I'll watch out for the Sirens while they rest."

"Well...if it is you. I can put my worries away. But, please." Isaac said as he stop which made Jasper also stop as well. "Take care of them, please."

Jasper smiled. "You should stop worrying a lot, Isaac. I already know besides, I'm dating one you know?"

Isaac lightly chuckled. "Yea...I guess I do worry a lot, huh?"

Both men chuckled before letting out a sigh.

"So I guess this is it, huh?"

"For now, at least. But I think I learned something from fighting against Taniks."

"And that is?"

"We, Guardians, may have immortality and have god-like powers but...we are not invincible. We may be paracasual beings in nature but we are still human. Basically...we are not gods nor a being that has transcended time. Yes, we can make out own fate but that doesn't mean we can control time for our own gain."

"We did it with Osiris's Sundial," Isaac said.

"But did we truly control the time when using the Sundial? While we did save Saint-14 from getting killed by the Vex. It was only when we had help from Osiris's Sundial. We did not control time on our own. That's what I mean, Isaac. This shows we are still weak even after the achievements we had accomplish. I mean, we killed Crota, Oryx, Nokris, Savathun, and Xivu Arath. Hell, we defeated an Ahamkara. A literal wish dragon that can transcend death and yet...when we met Rhulk. I felt all that accomplishment was all for nothing. For all the gods and wish dragon we have killed, nothing pales in comparison to the Witness and its Disciples. Remember what Ikora said a long time ago when we defeated Rhulk. It was only a taste of success barely achieved. Rhulk could have wiped us out easily but because of his arrogance and pride. We barely defeated him. It was only when on his final stand that he started to get serious...but it was too late for him." Jasper explains as he sighs. "The point is, Isaac. We have to get stronger no matter what. Humanity is counting on us and the Kansens. That is what I learned from Taniks."
