when the stars finally aline

chapter 4

"Who's down for a game for a truth, dare, or drink?" Marlene screams from one side of the room 

"Oh hell yes-! Mooney, you're playing it's not a choice" Sirius told his best friend

Remus just groaned. He just wanted a calm night. He wasn't planning on getting absolutely smashed. He has always been the parent of the group so he knew he would be dragging three sorry asses to bed that night so he tried his very best to not drink that much. This game however would seriously put a stop to that. He was certain. 

"Count me in" Lily chimed in 

"Ooo me too" James sing songed 

"Us too" Barty announced dragging Evan to join the circle with him, much to Evan's dismay. By this point in the evening, him and Evan were already very cuddly and very close so Evan just ended leaning on Barty, some would say it is cute and coupley but they would just say they needed each other for balance. That is all they were. Friends. Best friends. Friends that casually kissed but honestly Barty thought there was a word for that but he didn't give the time to read into everything too much. 

"Don't forget about us" Pandora chimed in before dragging Regulus and Dorcas down with her. 

"Okay ,so you all know the rules answer truthfully, and  I have made sure that will happen with the help of the truth serum or do the dare or drink if you really do not want to. Your choice. This one has a slight twist however if you have done something that is mentioned in a truth you also have to drink for example if it was have you ever slept in the Gryfindor common rooms  I would drink. Got it? cool. Let's play bitches!"  Marlene briefly explains before spinning the bottle. 

The bottle lands on James 

"Alrightly lover boy. Truth or dare?" Marlene spoke 

"Dare who the hell do you take me for? I am a bloody marauder. I am the reason we lost 120 house points for sending howlers to everyone in the school" James commented 

"How could anyone ever forget?" Marlene tutted "Anyways kiss the person to your left" She challenged 

He honestly hadn't paid that much attention to who he was sat next to when he sat down. oh no. 

Crap. 

" Why Marlene. Why?" Lily complained 

Lily. Lily Evans was sat on my left. If this was a year back he would be  over the moon but he can't help but think about how awkward everything is going to be because at this stage he sees Lily as more like a sister, a best friend more than a lover, not like anyone knows that apart from maybe Remus but he is Remus. Not even Sirius knows about the recent development but things with Sirius would be complicated if he told him so he decided against spilling the truth. 

James leaned into Lily's ear to just whisper a soft and sweet " I am so sorry" 

At the same this is all happening both Marlene,Sirius and Peter all took a swig of their drinks admitting to the fact they have all kissed lily at some point in the past four years. 

Lily just smiled sweetly and started to lean in and just for a second their lips touched. It was quick. It was sweet. But he felt nothing. No nerves. No butterflies. It was that moment he knew what he had been denying for ages. His heart beat for one person. That person was not Lily but the guy sat opposite him which was trying very hard in that moment to keep his poker face.

"REGGIE?!?" he screamed running into the Slytherin common room only to run face first into a Slytherin 

"I- I um sorry. I was looking for Regulus" He told the boy without looking up 

"Ah so the lover boy has returned once more." He commented
