~ My Brothers Best Friend ~

~ Nerd Alert ~

Come Lunch time El took a deep breath. One, she wanted to sit with Max. Two, she didn't wanna deal with a pissed off Troy. She looked up to her usual table seeing Troy off with his football team. Which usually meant he wouldn't join her anyways. El smiled looking towards Max for was waving at her. El smiled turning and heading in her direction.

"Do--Do you guys mind if I sit?" She lowly asked.

Max grinned huge. "No! Sit!!" She pulled out the chair between her and Will and Will smiled now his sister would finally join him for lunch

Dustin, Lucas, and Mike all got to thier seats. Mike looked accross from him meeting Els eyes.

"What is she doing here?" He asked in a non polite tone.

"We hung out all weekend, and now Jennifer's giving her a hard time" Max shrugged.

Mike rolled his eyes continuing his food.

"So is El finally one of us?" Dustin laughed looking at her.

"She's always been one of us she just wouldn't let it happen" Will jokes.

El shoved him with her elbow.

"What?! Your as nerdy as the rest of us little miss 'oh will please watch marvel movies with me, oh will please mark my practise tests, oh will please explain how D&D works' " he smirked.

"Will!!!" She yelled smacking him.

Mike broke into a serious of laughs.

"Your not serious... No way" Mike said through laughs.

"Oh I am! She's just as nerdy as you"

El rolled her eyes.

"Don't compare me to the asshole nerd, I'd rather be compared to Dustin, the funny nerd"

Mike perked his eyebrows up smiling at the insult.

"Whatever, Els a part of us now, she's my new best friend" Max smiled

"And what's Troy gonna think of this?" Lucas asked.

"He's too busy with his football buddies to care... I don't get the deal... Why can't I be friends with everyone?" El sighed.

"Doesn't work like that sunshine" Mike smirked.

"You should get rid of Troy anyways" Will said rolling his eyes. He's never liked him.

"I know.. I will.. just... You know how he is..." She whispered.

"I'll punch him of I have too" Will said happily.

"As much as I appreciate that, I could take you in a fight Will" El laughed and the others joined in knowing she was right.

A few days passed it was Friday and it was the same routine over and over. Troy would be too busy with other people. Jennifer wasn't talking to El. Mostly when she switched seats in Geography to sit next to Max.

Today somehow the seats got rearranged at lunch and El was sitting next to Mike. El stopped wearing her contacts and switched back to her glasses.

Mike grinned looking at her.

"What?" El quickly asked as he started at her.

"Mhmm? Nothing. Just... You look pretty cute with nerdy glasses on" He smiled a genuine smile.

El rolled her eyes laughing with him and she shoved him a bit playfully. Ever since becoming friends with Max the two of them hadn't been fighting as much. Just a few little snippy comments. But today was different. Today Troy was looking for her. And when he saw them laughing together and playfully shoving eachother he was fumming.

"You know, the party's having movie night tonight at my house" Mike brought up talking to El while everyone else was in thier own conversations.

"Oh? What movie?" She asked.

"We're gonna have a X-Men movie marathon"

"Ooooo! I love those movies!" She exclaimed.

"Why don't you come? I think they all think of you as a part of the party" He smiled.

She smiled looking down then back up. "Y--yeah if you don't mind... That would be nice.. I just don't wanna be an inconvenience" she whispered.

He smiled grabbing her hand under the table. "No inconvenience, I want you to come" He smiled then let go of her hand.

She smiled shyly and nodded.

He was different then when they firstet. Years of hatred slowly turning into a friendship. At least, she hopes it's a friendship. He was being pretty nice lately and she secretly loved it.

School flew by for the rest of the day. El was excited. One, she finally got to see the famous Michael Wheelers basement the go to place to hang other then they Bylers, and two, she was just excited for movie night.

She started heading towards the bus deciding it was easier then waiting for Troy. The. All of a sudden she was grabbed by an arm.

"And where do you think your going?!" Troy yelled making her jump.

"I--I was going home with Will... We have plans..." She stuttered shocked by his grasp.

"No! I saw you! What are you doing sitting with the nerds?"

"You were busy... "

"That doesn't mean you sit with them! What did I tell you about Wheeler! I don't want you near him! I saw you guys!"

"I--im sorry.. it won't happen again..."

"Damn right it won't! Or I'll kill the nerd! Now come on... We're gonna get you changed, and out to a party"

"What no... I! I have plans with will!"

"Not anymore. Go!" He screamed making her jump. She hated how controled she felt by him.

She was upset. She didn't want to go to a party. She wanted to go to the movie night.

She sighed getting changed into a sparkly dress and doing her make up. She grabbed her phone and luckily she had Mike's number stolen from Will in case of emergencies.
