El went on with her summer like nothing had ever happened. Troy never brought up the fight after that day so it was forgotten.

Mike on the other hand. It's all he could think of. How she believed he was the bad one in that situation. Like what the hell, she knows Troy has been bullying him since she's known him. Stupid Jennifer Hayes for mixing el in that group of people. But also stupid Mike for not letting her join their party.

Summer vacation had started. El spent plenty of time with Troy and working a part time job in the diner. Once school started her and Troy were going to be the new hot 'It' coupled because of Jennifer calling it off with her boyfriend so she could mess around this summer.

Mike was on vacation visiting his grandparents on another state. He tried to keep his mind off all his problems and just adventure.

Late August. 2 weeks before Grade 11 starts. Mike was back in town. El still working at the diner. They had not seen eachother since that fight.

El was working her normal shift at the diner. Noon to midnight shift. It was a Monday and normally no one ever came to the diner on a Monday night. El was standing at the cash counting her til, she heard the song from the door that someone had entered but didn't bother to glance up.

"Hi, could I just have a Vanilla milkshake and fries to go please" the man said in a really attractive tone.

"Yup! No problem!" El said cheerfully ringing it in.

"That'll be $8.59" she stated.

"Okay that'll be card" he replied.

"Go ahead" she said and finally looked up from her til. Oh my god... Was her first thought. Is that Michael Wheeler?

The boy that stood in front of her pushing his pin code onto her machine was no other then Michael Wheeler. There he stood, he grew about a whole foot taller since she last saw, gained some muscle so he wasn't that weak limbed boy she knew since grade 7. His hair longer... Fuller... Looked so soft and framed his face and cheek bones perfectly. All of a sudden she couldn't think straight. This boy she never cared for, a scrawny little boy with freakles. Turned into a man with a perfect height, muscle, hair, freakled face.

"M--M--Mike?" She stuttered starring at him.

He pulled his card out and looked up, Eyes going wide. Eleanor Hopper. A little taller maybe. Bright beautiful hazel eyes. Her blonde wavy hair pulled into a high pony tail. Casual makeup done. In a blue waitress uniform with a white apron.

"The one and only" he smirked.

She rolled her eyes. 'Yup he hasn't changed his personality' she thought.

"Back already?" She asked calmly.

He nodded.

"Wanted at least 2 weeks to get ready for school, you know me, nerdy and ready to roll."

She let out a little laugh.

"So your working here now?"

She nodded.

"Just for the summer. Wanted to save up some money for collages before I started applying"

"Smart idea"

"Yeah... Umm... I'll-- I'll go get your stuff" she stuttered.

What the hell is wrong with me she thought. Stuttering in front of Michael Wheeler. Why? He was a complete asshole.

Mike smiled watching her walk out back. He always thought El was pretty he just doesn't dare admit that to anyone. Seeing her brought up the memories of the fight they had before he left. Yes they always hated eachother. Thanks to him. But it still hurt knowing she didn't believe him over Troy when she saw how he treated people while she was with him.
