Toothless - You're A Baby Night Fury? #4

Based on Toothless's POV. He finds you, a baby Night Fury. That's it. That's the plot.

Toothless POV: 

Me and Hiccup just chased off a bunch of dragon hunters of the Edge with the help of the other dragons and riders. Hiccup was about to make me land when I heard something unusual but familiar somehow. I nudge Hiccup towards the direction of the sound. It's loud enough for him to notice it and he clicks on to what I'm trying to tell him. 

We land in a clearing just before the woods which is where the sound is coming from. "Any idea where the noise is coming from bud?" He asks me and I run towards the direction of the sound. If it's a dragon in distress, they are hiding very well. But I wouldn't blame them after those hunters being here. Anyway, I sniff out to better get an idea of where it is coming from. Then I notice a tree where the bottom has been split but not enough for it too fall to the ground. It is just stood at an angle. I wonder if it is a young dragon in hiding after it's mother put it there for safety. 

As I get closer to the sound, I run faster no longer listening to Hiccup telling me to wait for him. If there is a young dragon out here in trouble, we can help it and hopefully get it back to it's mother. I was right about the young dragon hiding in the tree where it has split at the bottom. That's not the reason for my shocked expression. "You're a baby Night Fury?" I said to the little dragon. I thought I was the last one left. So, where's it's mother? I hope she's not been captured by those hunters. Who knows what terrible things they would do to her. 

"Hey there kid, where's your mother?" I ask her. "Mother, bad humans, took her, , hurt her, no move again." Still very young and not able to talk very well but I could understand what she was trying to say. Hunters have indeed taken her mother and killed her. I sighed. I know we have to get her back home. But how would I get her to trust Hiccup and the others? We're her best hope of survival. 

"Toothless?" Hiccup calls out to me as he finally catches up. His expression quickly changes from being out of breath to shocked about seeing the baby Night Fury like I was. "Hey little one." Hiccup says to her but she growls at him which is expected. "Whoa, hey kid, my human here isn't like those bad humans. He's one of the good ones. You can trust him." I say to her. But as usual me talking just sounds like roars to Hiccup. 

The little Night Fury hesitantly comes out of it's hiding spot and runs right over to me and hides behind my front leg. I roll my eyes knowing she's not going to listen to either of us. So, I pick her up with my mouth being careful not to hurt her and place her in Hiccup's arms. "There ya go. You see? We won't hurt you. Is your mother around?" I nudge Hiccup and give him a sad look and he knows she won't be alive. "Well then, looks like you're coming back with us. I know the others are going to love you!" Hiccup says excitedly which calms the little dragon a little. He climbs up on my back while holding the little Night Fury. "You got a name kid?" I ask her. "Y/n." She says. "Well y/n, you're going to love where we're headed. To Dragon's Edge!"
