Heather is your girlfriend, and you are trying to relax on the beach and a Timberjack finds you both on the beach and the Timberjack is acting completely insane. Will you be able to calm it down or will Heather have to take care of it? And not in a good way.

A/N - I had wanted to put an image of a Timberjack on here but the photos that I save won't save as jpeg format on my laptop so I can't upload it. If anyone knows how to fix this I'd be so grateful!

I sat on the golden sand at the beach at Dragon's Edge. It was peaceful. Just me and my girlfriend, Heather. See, I have been wanting a dragon to call my own for a long time, so I came out here with Hiccup and the others. That's where I met Heather and we hit it off right away. We've been relaxing here most of the afternoon since everyone on the Edge is having a day to themselves to do whatever and regroup, basically forget about being soldiers for a moment. Little did I know something was about to interrupt our day but at the same point, change my life too.

A Timberjack had landed on the beach. It kept roaring at us loudly and firing anywhere it could. Heather got into a defensive position. Something seemed off about its behaviour. Normally, according to Fishlegs anyway, this particular species of dragon is very friendly and easy to train. It takes me a moment for me to remember something he also told me about why it might be acting like a maniac. "Back off." I told Heather who seemed confused at my comment. "I think I know what's going on." I answered her unspoken question.

Slowly, cautiously, I wandered over to the Timberjack. "Hey big guy, I'm not going to hurt you. I think I know what's wrong with you." I spoke as softly and calmly as I could to it. The dragon lowered its head to me and that's when I realised just how big this species was. It didn't bother me though. I was more concerned about calming the dragon down.

I gently placed my hand on his scales and ran it down his back to the spot he seemed to try and reach but couldn't and scratch it for him. He was so grateful that he nuzzled me and refused to leave my side after that. "All that for an itch?" Heather questioned still rather confused. "I remembered Fishlegs telling me that if a Timberjack has an itchy back it drives them mad but if someone scratches it for them, they're your best friend for life." "Well, looks like you've just found yours y/n." She told me and pecked my cheek. "Yeah, I guess I did. I actually can't wait to show the others. Come on, let's head back!" Heather mounted on Windshear and the Timberjack lowered himself and allowed me to mount up on him and we flew back to the clubhouse.

The others unsurprisingly were confused when they saw me riding another dragon that wasn't Windshear alongside Heather. "Y/n, care to introduce us?" Hiccup asked smiling knowingly. "This guy found us at the beach and had an itch and I scratched it for him." I told them. "He's awesome. What did you name him?" Snotlout surprisingly said. He probably said that due to his size. "I actually haven't come up with one yet." I said honestly. "What about Sunslash?" Tuffnut said. "Ooh, ooh, Sunfire!" Ruffnut yelled. "Guys, guys, it's y/n's decision to name him. He's her new dragon after all." Hiccup said and I silently thanked him for that.

"So, y/n, do you have any ideas for a name?" Astrid asked. "Hmm, what about ScarletBane?" "I don't get it." Snotlout said. "Scarlet is red, not the exact red of a Timberjack but still red and bane means annoyance or distress. And the itch was causing him annoyance and distress, so I think it's perfect." Hopefully he and assuming the twins also didn't understand the name now do. "I have to agree it is a perfect name choice." Fishlegs commented. "Yes, it is, and we'll have to start training the two of you for missions as soon as possible." Hiccup said. "Having your own dragon makes you a fully-fledged dragon rider after all!" Ruffnut stated. "I can't believe it but she's right." Astrid said to me. "Me and Heather will help you with ScarletBane first thing tomorrow. For now, it is dinner time." Hiccup said as Astrid placed a plate full of various meats, potatoes, and cabbage out for us all to choose ourselves.

After dinner, me, and Heather head back to our hut and just enjoy the sunset whilst ScarletBane and Windshear both lay next to us. "You know, I'm actually proud you managed to bond with a new wild dragon. Maybe, we can go for a moonlit flight? I've wanted to do that for so long!" Heather said and I rested my head on her shoulder. "I'd love to but for now I'm just happy to watch the sunset."

Ending this one here. Let me know what you thought. Requests are OPEN! Especially if it's for Heather or Astrid but mainly Heather since there's next to no fanfics out there for her. I still stand by what I said by she needs her own show. I'd watch it any day! Anyways, don't forget to VOTE! :)
