Astrid - I Hope You Can Make Two Doses #5

You have to retrieve the venom of the Slitherwing dragon for their poison to help save Stormfly. But will Fishlegs have enough ingredients for both you and Stormfly? The last thing you want is to fail Astrid, your girlfriend. 

Finding a new island for Garf to call his own is difficult as of now. The island Fishlegs chose has lots of poisonous dragons called Slitherwings. The whole ordeal is a disaster because they have taken Garf and poisoned Stormfly. This leads to Fishlegs searching for an antidote. Astrid yells at him causing him to drop his notes and they go everywhere. "My nerves are already shot Astrid, you're not helping." I knew she needed to calm down do I did the one thing that works. I take her hand in mine and hug her tightly. In response, she wraps her arms around me tightly. That's when I notice the flash card with the Slitherwing on it. "There it is." I tell him.

He scans the card and luckily manages to find the antidote. "What do we need?" I ask. "Angel Fern, tree sap and... oh." He pauses causing me to wonder if it last ingredient is what I think it is. "Let me guess, we need the venom from the Slitherwing." Astrid says removing herself from me. Fishlegs nods his head knowing it's going to be a dangerous part of the process. "Right y/n, you get the venom, Ruff, Tuff, you two are with me. Astrid you need to stay with Stormfly." She looks over at me and I nod agreeing with Fishlegs. She mimics my movement then follows Stormfly as she continues running through the forest. 

As for the rest of us, we mount on our dragons and make a start on our given tasks. I knew right away that I needed to go to the lake because all of the creature's will need to drink at some point. And a few minutes later, one does indeed show up. I take the opportunity to sneak up on it with a spare cup I happened to have. My plan is to gently touch it just long enough to let the venom pour into it. Of course, that plan didn't work out. What I failed to realise was, this dragon had some friends hidden in the bushes and decided to ambush me. 

When the Slitherwings surrounded me, I knew I couldn't fail Stormfly or Astrid. I had to get the venom... even if it means getting poisoned myself in the process. So, without thinking, my fist met the stomach of the Slitherwing and I ran off before it had time to react. I knew the poison was working it's way through me at a rapid pace because thinking was becoming extremely difficult. I just about managed to make out the figure that belonged to Fishlegs. "I hope you can make two doses." I told him before collapsing. At least if I'm to go out, it's to save my girl or in this case, Stormfly.

I felt my eyes flutter open. Wait a minute, I'm alive? Fishlegs obviously managed to create two doses. "Y/n! Oh thank gods! You're okay!" Astrid says looking concerned. "I'm fine. How's Stormfly?" I ask. "She's much better now." She tells me. Then I hear the sound of a Deathsong. And I saw Garf and Stormfly playing with each other. "Stormfly as it turns out was never actually poisoned. She was mourning the loss of Garf because we all thought he had been... you know. But Hiccup and Snotlout managed to retrieve him in one piece." She continued. "Oh, that actually makes more sense. Can't believe we missed that. But I'm just glad everything is back to normal. I vote we get off this island before anything else happens." I say to her. Everyone agrees and we all mount on our dragons. 

Fishlegs gets his map back out and Astrid glares at him. "Don't worry, I'll do a better job at finding an island this time and making sure it is actually safe." We all laugh at Fishlegs before speeding up and fly off to find the perfect island for Garf. I'm just glad I haven't failed my girl or my girl's dragon. Now, I'm excited to see where Garf's new home is going to be.
