30.
"So you're from England but you got lost on a trip with your parents to Canada? Then you discover a girl with phantom wings, a Canadian 'hottie',and a samurai master in a white suit? Am I correct?"
I nod vigorously. The guy in the jail cell looks at me like I'm a different species. So I try to elaborate for him which most likely will help.
"And the Canadian is madly in love with me but our love is continually interrupted by Dr. Death-"
"Wait." His dark black eyes go dim. "You mean the creepy hot shot in the black and red cloak?"
"I wouldn't exactly say he's hot. More like I-make-death-look-ugly hot."
He shifts in the sitting position he's in on the other side of my cell's bars. The greenish glow that comes from the lights casts gruesome shadows on his otherwise spotless face. I'd say he's nearly as cute as Sam with his inky black locks that caress his face and neck.
"Oh no. He's hot. Uh, well not that I'm attracted to him in that way. But a guy comes to a realization that other males can be more attractive than others. Not that I don't think I'm hot or anything. I actually find myself quite irresistible."
He nods his head in agreement to himself. I pace my cell. Where is Dr. Death anyhow? He did bring me here but I don't know why. The others must be horribly worried about me. And Sam. Poor Sam. He must be going as crazy as I am.
I hear myself ask "How did you get here?"
He lifts his head to look at me. Yeah, he's definitely attractive.
"Dr. Lolicon didn't like the fact that I'm just like his fantasy girl. So he threw me in here to prove that he's better than me. Right now I'm in the process of escaping." He points toward the end of his cell where I guess his "process" is taking place. "I'm just about done and if I were you I'd be doing the same. The only reason why he's keeping us here is so that we don't getin the way of his plans. When he succeeds were just leftover trash. So. . ."
I nod receiving the point.
"Wait. Dr. Death has a fantasy girl? That's not really. . . Well, it's just really weird. And how are you like his fantasy girl?"
He chuckles and stands up. He cracks his knuckles and neck.
"Apparently he's in love with this girl that used to be his in a different time period than this one. He claims the whole space time continuum was screwed up and his girl got lost in time and landed in this one. She has no memory of him and he got all screwy in the head searching for her." He looks at me watching how I'm reacting to this. I don't succeed in hiding my astonishment. He laughs again.
"He finally found her here and plans on getting him and her back to where they came from," he finishes.
"I'm guessing his love is Chloe?"
"Chloe? Who's Chloe?"
"Oh, I mean Cleo. His girl is Cleo."
He nods and begins to fiddle with the hem of his dark blue shirt. A habit I guess but then I notice his apparel. His blue shirt has dark sickly looking splotches on them which I guess is blood. His tattered jeans hide his torn black Airwalks. His long face also has splotches but it looks more like dirt than blood. It's hard to tell in the lighting. His scrapes and bruises look crude under the green glare of the lights.
"You haven't answered my second question."
He squints at me. "It's kinda hard to talk to someone who's checking them out."
