14.
Shortly after the episode with Kai, we arrive back at the hut. The weird thing is Sam is carrying Kai who fell asleep in the forest . . . Again. Can life get any weirder? Ever since I met Winter and Sam, my life has been more . . . Exciting. I wonder if they feel the same way.
Sam drops Kai on my bed rather harshly and plops down on his chair.
"Why do I have to do all the work?" He asks, closing his eyes.
"Why does she have to sleep in my bed?" I return and put away my bow and quill.
"Why do ya'll talk so much?" Winter states and sits down to sharpen his daggers. Sam sighs and slumps in his chair.
"I'm so bored," he says and sighs.
"I have an idea," I say with fake excitement.
He pops up in his chair, opening his eyes.
"Really? What?" Sam leans forward in his chair.
"How's about you go home? That seems more exciting then a boring old forest," I say and Sam puts his head in his hands.
"I agree," comments Winter Blade.
"I'm serious guys. Aren't you bored?"
"No," I say.
"Not really," agrees Winter.
"Well I am and I have a better idea," He says and stands up.
"What idea is better than you leaving?" Winter Blade plops down on a rock.
I am bored actually, but I really don't care at this point. I'd rather be bored than fighting Nomes every other hour. Maybe Sam's idea isn't so bad. Maybe.
"Let's hear it. It can't be that bad," I say solemnly.
"That's the spirit! Now, remember before when I said we needed a vacation?-"
"No," interrupts Winter.
"Well maybe we should go on a vacation!" Sam says ignoring Winter.
"Well remember before when we said we're already on a vacation?" I reason.
"Yeah . . . But I mean an adventurous vacation!"
I glare at him. Is he serious? We were almost killed by Dr. Lunatic and he wants adventure? Don't get me started with big-and-ugly. Kai being here also added some excitement in my life. Even if she is just as crazy as Dr. Lunatic is. At least she's somewhat fun.
"You want adventure? I could push you into a wall again." Winter Blade says.
"Oh, come on Blade. I'm not jokin' around. We need to travel-"
"We walk miles everyday Samantha. That's traveling," I interrupt.
"Yes, true, but . . . aren't you getting tired of seeing trees every day? We need to go somewhere new. Discover hidden places in Canada and maybe even travel to Alaska. Or America!-"
"Shut up Samantha," says Winter Blade. "If you want adventure then go to Alaska yourself and freeze to death. That'll be a load off my back."
"Fine! I will," he says.
He turns to me and looks into my eyes.
"What?"
"Well. Are you coming?"
Winter looks at me and sharpens his knives faster.
"Are you kidding . . . Because I would never leave my forest," I say even though I wouldn't mind going to America.
