chapter 24

Omer's POV:
I get home and hear Lucy and Hartlyn's laugh from the living room, I wasn't expecting the sight that I saw though.

"Umm babe, why is our daughter dressed up as a penguin?"

"I found it in a store and I thought she would look adorable in it which she does."

I sit down next to Lucy and take a photo of Hartlyn uploading it to instagram. "She's my little penguin" I smile as she crawls to me, she likes crawling as it's faster for her.

"I was thinking of letting her wear it to Dad's"

"That's fine, he will love the fact we turned our daughter into a penguin"

Michael's POV:

"Amanda please tidy your room, it looks like a bomb has gone off"

"It's not messy"

"Do you even know what colour the carpet is cause I can't even see an inch of it under all your things. If it's not tidied by the end of the day I will let the maids clean it with black bags"

"You wouldn't dare"

"Oh I would, and bring your dishes down with you. No wonder we're running out of mugs downstairs when your desk has a nice collection going on"

"Have you finished nagging? I am busy ya know"

"Dylan can wait, it isn't the end of the world that you two don't talk for an hour or so. Also lose the attitue before your sister and Omer arrives"

"Oh I won't be here to see them"

"And why not?"

"Mom is taking me and Dylan to the new mall"

"It isn't your mother's weekend"

"And?"

"You're not meant to see her so the mall has to wait until next week"

"No"

"Yes Amanda"

"I'm going and you can't stop me"

"Yes I can so stop with the attitude right now young lady"

"You can't tell me what to do, you're not even my real father!" She snaps

I leave the room without saying a word and go back downstairs

Lucy's POV:

We just arrived at Dad's and as I was helping Omer get Hartlyn out the stroller, Dad comes downstairs.

"Dad?"

"Dad what's wrong?" I ask going over to him

He reaches me and hugs me tightly and breaks down crying.

"Dad?" Paris and Maya asks

"You two come with me, let your sister speak to him ok?" Omer says taking everyone into the living room.

"Dad what's wrong?"

"Dad I'm sorry. I didn't mean it" Amanda says running downstairs

"What did you do?" I ask

"I said he can't tell me what to do cause he isn't my real father"

"You what!"

"Lucy please, calm down" Dad says pulling away from the hug

"No, why would you say that? He's been more of a father to you than your real father have! You don't have a clue, he loves you to pieces and took you in. You didn't spend long in a care home cause he was kind and took you in and this is how you repay him"
