Chapter 34

Lucy's POV;
Dad has been doing great, tonight is his last ever show. It's quite emotional, after all these years tonight is the last time the world will ever see my wonderful Dad on stage. I'm privileged to be here tonight, yes I'm his daughter so obviously I'll see him perform at home and things but it's not the same.

As usual Dad is doing his end of show speech, although he's more emotional. No one will ever be as dedicated and loyal to their fans as much as Dad is. I know my whole family including my husband is in the music industry but even they won't be like the way Dad is to the fans.

The fans are his family, they've been there through thick and thin with him, the good times and the bad. What artist will do a whole tour and not keep a dollar earned from it because he gave it to charity, no one else that's for sure.

"He's really emotional on this one" Omer speaks to me

"Wouldn't you be too? It's his last ever time on stage, the last time he's in a place where he's truly happy."

"Do you think he will come back?"

"I don't know, my uncles wants him to rejoin the group but he's said no. I think he would be tempted to join them for a one off show but his health would have to be better than what it is now. He's really worked hard for these shows, he's practiced every day for hours on end. I mean come on his moves are over 20 years old, he's older so they will be surely harder for him and take more energy out of him"

"That is true"

"To be honest if his health is the same as this when and if he wants to join them I won't allow it. I've been worried about his health in preparation for this tour"

"I know you have, go out to him and give him a hug"

I look out and notice he's close to breaking down so I quickly hug Omer and go out onto stage.

Dad is kneeling down with his head in his hands, I kneel down in front of him and place my hand on his back.

"It's ok" I smile quietly so the mic doesn't pick it up

He looks up and hugs me, I stand up and he properly hugs me. When he pulls away I take the mic off him.

"Everyone give it up for Michael Jackson"

The crowd cheers loudly for a good 3 minutes where they then start to quiet down.

"I don't know about you lot but I'm sure as hell proud of this person stood next to me. I mean look at his musical past, he's influenced the next generation of artists and he's left his legacy in the industry just like other artists have. Thriller is still the highest record and haven't been beaten, but we all know it never will be. Highest Grammy awards in one night, still all these years later he's the highest. The moonwalk."

I shut up giving them a chance to cheer again

"Since Dad was little he's been providing us with good music to listen to, his whole life has been dedicated to you guys. In return you stuck by him through things which is outside of his career. He's a musician not a reality tv star, only his music should be in the news but his whole life was and you stuck by him through all the lies and false allegations. I thank you for that, you guys truly are his life. Here's a secret, he even put you guys before me. I was jealous of you guys, he always spent so much time doing rehearsals or in the studio his reason being I need to make it good for the fans. Me being the kid I was hated you guys, you was taking my Daddy from me. But now I see why, you make him happy. He loves you all like you're his own family too, he doesn't want to let you guys down. This isn't the end of Michael Jackson because we all know the media will still stalk him, whatever future lies will come out just remember it's false, to buy it is to feed it. Don't you dare be a tabloid junkie"

I look to the side stage and motion for everyone to come out, Dad picks Hartlyn up and Omer stands by me wrapping his arm around my waist.

"Give it up for Katherine and Joe, without them there will be no Michael Jackson"

Cheers, although Katherine goes a little red with embarrassment.

"Give it up for my uncles who made the Jackson 5 starting this whole thing off"

"Give it up for Frank, he believed in Dad and helped him with the great albums we have out there today"

"Give it up for the stage crew who have made this show possible and work smoothly"

"Give it up for my aunties and siblings because without them Dad wouldn't get some of his inspiration and be able to feel happiness"

"Give it up for you guys and all the other fans dotted around the world. Without you Dad wouldn't of lasted in the industry this long"

"And finally Give it up for my hero, my inspiration, my Dad"
