Chapter 41

Lucy's POV:

I was helping dad do the washing up and man it was loads to wash up, the joys of a big family for Christmas dinner.

"What's your favourite present?" Dad smiles

"You having Hartlyn for the next 2 nights" I smile

"Ah, days off from the kids. Back to the times before they was around" dad smiles as he remembers those days I'm guessing

"Yeah, best thing is. It wasn't many years ago when I had that. You on the other hand"

"Oi, cheeky. I don't miss it. Yes I like the odd days off but getting you was the best thing that's happened in my life"

I smile and hug him, Dad was a very lonely person. Before you think it no he didn't get me to not feel lonely he got me cause he generally wanted to change a child's life.

"And you're the best that's happened in mine" I smile pulling away

Evening

I close the door behind me and walk into the living room "ah, peace at last" Omer smiles sitting down

"Don't be so harsh, by the end you'll be missing her and can't wait to have her back"

"Of course, she's my little princess"

I smile and kiss him "I got you another present"

"Seriously? You got me enough and just having you is more than enough"

"Stay here"

I quickly go upstairs and head to the closet and rummage around. No no no I can't of lost it. Why is it when you're looking for something you can't find it? Mothers find everything so why isn't this working now? I eventually find it and I go downstairs. I sit down and hand him a letter and he reads through this.

"What do you mean? This makes no sense. Make sure your hand is strong in 9months. Lucy this makes so sense, oh....omg, Lucy? Are you pregnant?"

"Yeah"

"That's amazing" he smiles and kisses me "bet it's a boy"

"I don't care about the gender, as long as it's healthy. But I bet it's a girl" I chuckle

"We need to prepare come on" he smiles jumping up and taking my hand to help me up

"What are you on about?" I ask confused as he drags me upstairs

"We need to empty the room" he announces whilst we're stood inside one of the rooms full of boxes.

"Or we use the empty room?"

"No, this is across from Hartlyn, they have their own end of the floor"

I roll my eyes and agree even though we have 3 other rooms which isn't used as storage. Then again these have been boxed up since we moved in so a clear out would be good.

"You're such a liar" Omer gasps

"What?"

"You said you would always wear it" he speaks picking up a necklace.

The robot one from our first date and he asked me out

"The chain broke remember. Beside you got me the one I'm wearing" I smile

"Aww look"

I walk over and see some photos. It's old Polaroids from us growing up the photo he's holding in his hand was when Amy came to stay, we used a padding pool to sit inside on the pool so our drinks and food wouldn't get wet.

I wrap my arm around his waist as we look through all the photos.

"Louie" I mumble feeling my heart breaking.

"I love this one of you both. We should've got that one blown up for the living room instead of the one we got"

"I miss that animal so damn much" I sigh

He puts the photos back in the box and moves it out the way.

I open a box near me finding some things from growing up this is such a trip down memory lane.

After around 3 hours we call it a night as I'm tired and it's late. We have managed to get 3 boxes worth of things to donate though which is good.

I Place the box of photos on my dressing table then I go to get changed.

I'm planning to stick more of the photos in frame and place them in the entrance hall on the side board we have. The Polaroid's I'm gonna clip to fairy lights and hang around in the office as it's more suitable to the themed decor we have in there.

Our aim tomorrow is to get that room completely empty and the things we're keeping into new homes or the loft if they're stuff that must be in storage. I personally wanted a chill day but Omer is determined to get prepared for the baby's arrival even though we got 9 months to prepare.
