Preparations

"Are you sure we'll find something here?" Kaede asked.

"Of fucking course we are!"

"Miu we're in a mall" Tsumugi said. The three roommates were currently at a shopping mall looking for sewing materials. Maki couldn't make it due to having plans with Kaito. "Hmmmm" Tsumugi scanned the mall, hoping to find what she was looking for. "Oh! That store over there has sewing supplies!" The three walked in, letting Tsumugi pick everything out. She picked out purple fabrics and laces, feeling the material of each one.

"Are you sure you need all of this? It's fucking expensive!" Miu said.

"Well, if we want Kaede to look her very best, then yes! I do need all of this!" Tsumugi exclaimed.

"Thanks again Tsumugi! I'm so glad you're the one making my dress for the competition!" Kaede clasped her hands together.

"OOOOO I KNOW! WE SHOULD HAVE A BIG ASS PARTY AFTERWARDS!!"

"I actually really like that idea!" Kaede agreed. "Finally something interesting for my plain life!" Tsumugi added.

Tsumugi was getting really excited, "Alright! It's preparation time!!"

"UGH! I DONT WANNA WEAR A SUIT" Kokichi was throwing a fit while Kiibo was trying to make him wear it. "You have to! You have to look formal remember?!" Kiibo pleaded. It was now the morning of the competition, and last minute preparations were being made.

"Please Kokichi! Can't you just wear a suit, just once!? You can take it off at the party!"

"Fine! But only this once!"

Shuichi on the other hand was a nervous shaking wreck in the living room. "Hey man, are you good? You look like you need a doctor" Kaito questioned. "I-I'm fine...!" He quickly muttered. Kaito wasn't buying it. He looked at Shuichi again, trying to find a clue on him, unable to find anything, he looked around the room. That's when he realized, "Oh yeahhhhh! Shuichi is gonna give Kaede a bouquet of flowers!"

"AHAH! You're scared of rejection!"

"REJECTION?! I'm not asking anyone out!!" Shuichi shot back.

"Well not rejection but....You know what I mean! You're scared Kaede's gonna say something mean to you when you give her the flowers"

"Um I thought that was pretty obvious" Shuichi confirmed.

Kokichi yawned as he walked into the living room, now wearing a suit with a checkered tie, "Personally, if I was Kaede, I'd laugh in Shuichi's face and punch him! That's just me though" he shrugged at the end. Then, he looked at himself in the mirror, "DAMN! I'm looking pretty snazzy if I do say so myself!"

"Look Shuichi, you're gonna be fineeee! Plus, I think its impressive that you're making a move" Kaito consoled.

"I'm giving her flowers because we're close friends! And it'll be like a congratulations gift too" Shuichi retaliated.

Kaito shot a look at Kiibo, who looked at Kaito then Kokichi, who looked at Kiibo then Kaito, who looked at Kokichi and then back at Shuichi. Their faces all had the same expression.

Kokichi was the one to speak what was on everyone's mind. He sighed, got up, walked to Shuichi, and placed an arm on his shoulder, "Look buddy, I don't know how to tell you this but.....your and Kaede's behavior.....is not platonic at all" Shuichi looked up at Kokichi, confused, "You see these guys here?" Kokichi pointed at Kaito and Kiibo, "Yeah, these guys and I have been studying and watching each and every move you two make. Analyzing your moves, CALCULATING what it means. And you wanna know the answer we got? Not. Platonic. At. All." He moved away from Shuichi, leaving him absolutely dumbfounded.

"You may not know it yet but....you're in deep trouble" Kokichi concluded.

Shuichi felt genuine fear, what the hell was that just now?!

Kaede was currently sitting backstage, she was getting really nervous. What if it all went wrong? She kept reminding herself that she had practiced all the time, that she was going to be fine. But, none of it seemed to calm her down. So, she picked up her phone and dialed the only person she thought could help her.

"Hey Kaede. Is something wrong?"

"Well nothing is particularly wrong I'm just really nervous" Kaede played with her dress. It was pretty long and sort of poofy.

"You'll do great Kaede....not only that but I know you'll win. There's no need to put pressure on yourself, just play as you usually do. I know you'll have everyone in there mesmerized."

Kaede giggled, "Look at you! Being all confident! But seriously speaking, thanks a lot Shuichi, I think I'm finally ready"

"Heh its no problem Kaede...we'll be there soon, alright?"

"Alright! I'm looking forward to seeing you all. You guys better cheer and clap the loudest for me!"

Kaede could hear Shuichi laughing, "We will Kaede, don't worry!"

"Well, I'll see you soon! Oh! And don't forget! We have a deal, remember?"

"I haven't forgotten Kaede, I'll see you later"

"Later Shuichi!" Kaede called out one last time before ending the call.

Kaede sighed, yep, she was going to make sure she won.

Another short chapter, but I think the next one is going to be longer, so theres no need to worry.
